Obituary
Clemente Penco was born November 6, 1921 in Harbin, China to Lithuanian and Italian parents. After immigrating to Seattle in 1957 he married Lubov July 12, 1961 at St. Spiridon Orthodox Cathedral. He and Lubov had two daughters, Sasha born in 1962 and Helen born in 1964.
Clem lived for more than 50 years in Mountlake Terrace WA, working as an Electrical Engineering Designer for John Fluke Manufacturing, at first in Mountlake Terrace and later in Everett. He designed for Fluke several products that were in production for decades.
He also loved to tinker with electronics at home. He loved wood-working, fishing, hunting, mushroom picking, car repair, and studying and learning about the stars and planets, buying himself a giant telescope in recent years. In his younger years he raised pigeons and participated in pigeon races. He also loved to feed the birds, and squirrels and went out into the yard every day to do so, up until his final days.
He loved to sing and as a young man in China, attending a music conservatory and once took second place in a competition. He sang for more than 50 years in the choir at St. Spiridon and gave concerts at the Russian Center and in various nursing homes.
At St. Spiridon he was well known for handing out chocolates after every church service, but he had a pocket full of chocolates all the time and handed them out everywhere he went. While he was still driving he never failed to offer rides to church for various parishioners who could no longer drive.
He passed into the loving arms of his Lord on November 19th 2016 at his home in Mountlake Terrace surrounded by his family.
