Obituary
Connie J. Holicki Allis, 65, passed away peacefully at home with her family on July 27.
She was born to Frank and Virginia Howard Holicki on March 2, 1941, in Flint, Mich.
She lived near Twin Lakes in Federal Way for 27 years and was buried in Michigan. Services were held at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, Mich.
Allis is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard; one brother-in-law, Al. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, G. Ray Allis; three loving children Caroline, Catherine and Chris Kris; one grandchild, Victoria; one sister, Janet; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Victoria wishes she could work on the doll she and Grandma had started. She says that they had planned to make one together like the leopard print one.
I contacted several museums about exhibiting mom’s dolls as folk art. The Seattle Art Museum said it devotes
their galleries mainly to national and international art. The Tacoma Art Museum said they are unable to consider an exhibition of her work at this time because they have commitments for the coming few years. The curators have extended their sympathy.
