Born in Pangasinan, Philippines December 28th 1927 and departed November 14th 2008.
After serving in the Philippine army, Constantine migrated to the United States in January 1946. Upon living in Hawaii, he gained US citizenship in 1951, traveled the country, and resided in Seattle, WA. Working 30 years for Boeing, he retired at age 55 and was the first Filipino to become a supervisor for the Commercial Fabrications Department.
Being a natural born leader, He found himself involved in numerous organizations and committees. A few of his life’s accomplishments include being President of the Filipino community, President of Alaska Cannery Workers Union Local #37, 3rd degree of the Knights of Columbus, President of Sons & Daughters of Santa Maria, 33rd degree for the Caballeros De Dimaslang and he was the first Filipino to run for the House of Representatives District #37.
Constantine is survived by his five sons, Dwayne, Michael, Gregory, Christopher and Steven, as well as 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 21st from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:30 pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA. 206 242-1787.
I know Constantine will be missed by his large family. He was a wonderful and kind man and he still is! Even if we can’t see him right now, I know we will see him again and I know he is now in a most beautiful place of peace, rest and freedom from the cares of this world. May we all strive to keep his kindness, love and courage in our memory. My love and best wishes to the family. May you be blessed and comforted in this time of sadness and loss.
Constantine’s son Greg is my uncle by marriage and a man I respect greatly. I did not have the good fortune to know Constantine in this life, but because of my association with Greg I can see part of Constantine reflected in the goodness of his son. Perhaps I will one day be lucky enough to meet him. My family and I send our thoughts and concern to the entire Baruso family and much love to Greg, Shawn,Darian & Aliyah.
