What can I say…

We’ll miss you. Plain and simple. After three years of putting up with Craig’s craziness as housemates I think that chaos rubbed off on us. For that we both are appreciative. Thank you for the laughs, nutting memories and…oh yeah, don’t forget the homemade beers.

We’ll miss you Gmur.

I first met Craig during our Midshipman Cruise in San Diego in the summer of 2004. We had been friends ever since. Later he would be my roommate/study buddy while stationed at NAS Pensacola. Our conversations always stirred up laughter and his humorous personality always put smiles on everyones faces. I spoke with him the night before he passed away. We were to have a beer the following week in San Diego. I will forever miss you good friend and my prayers are with you always.

Your friend,

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Gmur,

Andrea and I send our heartfelt condolences – we were struck hard by the loss of someone within the NROTC family, and that’s how it feels. Everyone loved Craig — he was a great young man with a great sense of humor and sense of honor. I know it’s so hard, but God has a plan, and he must have had a need for someone special. Craig was a special student, friend, and human being, and I’ll miss him. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please call. My prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

Bruce Barnes

To the Gmur Family:

I was Marine Officer Instructor at UI/WSU from July03-July06. I thought a great deal of Craig– he was just a fantastic young man who always seemed to have a great attitude and a smile on his face. He was a pleasure to know and work with. I was deeply sadened when I heard the news of his death. Please accept my sincere condolences. I am terribly sorry for your family’s loss.

To The Family of Mr. Craig Dean Gmur

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to each of you. Although we are not acquainted with one another, we are acquainted with the pain when our loved ones fall asleep in death.

Our Heavenly Father feels the pain that you are going through. When he created the first Man and Woman it was his purpose that they and their offspring including us live forever without the effects of sickness and death.

His purpose has not changed for he promises that the day is soon to come in which he will wipe away the tears of sorrow from our eyes forever and death will be no more.

He promises too that your loved ones, my loved ones and many others will hear his voice and come out of the memorial tombs graves.

I am terribly sorry to hear about the loss of Craig. We were in the same class of 2001 together at BHS. Craig and I and my twin sister Erin were Mrs. Reece’s teachers assistants at Ballard High our senior year. I have nothing but fond memories of Craig. He was a very delightful young man and always very kind and thoughtful. He was smart and funny and very pleasant to be around. My boyfriends sister used to date Craig, she was very fond of him and still very close friends with him. I send my deepest sympathy to you and your family.

With love,

I will remember craig as an asset to our country, as a good friend and as an awesome guy that i was blessed to get to know. Our friendship was brief but unforgettable. He had a caring, thoughtful, kind and understanding heart. He was intelligent and thrived on the challenges of life. He loved what he did and put everything he had into it. He didnt get to complete a mission he had in mind but can now continue it in a better place. I feel lucky to have known this man and will forever have his memory in my heart.

Craig’s friends and family are all in my heart and prayers in this time of grief we all share. We may not have shared acquaintances but we shared craig.

Love always and Forever

Renae

Craig, we met years ago just by change in Vegas and had one of the best spring breaks ever. Somehow we managed to stay friends over the years. I was lucky enough to spend halloween weekend down there at your place in SD and am so grateful for that time together. You were a great friend and a funny, insightful, driven person and you will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. I’ll miss you.
