Crevin Lee Ko
November 5, 1958 - March 21, 2009
Obituary
Born November 5, 1958, passed away March 21, 2009 surrounded by his family. Crevin is survived by his wife of 26 years, Melinda and daughter Karina. Also survived by parents Tom & Charlene Ko, sister Jana Yamamoto Donald, sister-in-law Marian Chan Nam, niece Natasha de los Reyes Randy, nephews Brent Chan Cindy and Dillon Yamamoto, and many, many relatives on the Ko, Eng, & Wong sides of the family.
Crevin loved everything sports related and was a youth basketball coach for over 30 years with Seattle Chinese Athletic Association, Seattle Asian Sports Club and Issaquah Select Basketball. After graduating from the U of W, he became an avid Husky fan and in recent years developed a passion for golf. Crevin was loved by many and was a great husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and coach. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Memorial service will be Saturday April 4, 2009, 1:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, 1717 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA. Memorial contributions can be made at any Washington Mutual Branch or sent to Washington Mutual, Factoria Financial Center, 3919 Factoria Blvd. SE, Bellevue, WA 98006, in the name of Karina Ko; or to your favorite charity.
We were very sadden to hear the loss of Crevin when the family visited Issaquah in the summer of 2010 after moving to So Cal early 2008. I still remember speaking to Crevin briefly after a middle school basketball game and just prior to our relocation. As usual he was upbeat and very positive and I remember thinking to myself he would be one person that I would surely miss. He cared so much and poured his heart out to the kids he coached, above that you could clearly see how great of a father and husband he was for his family. He is indeed missed but surely this man with a heart of gold has had a clear path to heaven…..God Bless. Eric Narimatsu
My thoughts and sympathies are with you and your family.
Mary Knapp, a friend and colleague, just let me know of Crevin’s passing and I was taken aback. I worked with Crevin while at The Seattle Times, he was such a good salesman, family man and all round good person … we will miss him so much.
Melinda,
As you may recall, I am one of Marian’s friends from the “chinatown days”. Several years ago, you re-introduced yourself to me at a SCAA banquet I think. It was nice to see you again. Recently my brother-in-law passed away from pancreatic cancer so I feel I have a sense of what you must be going through. My thoughts are with you and your family in this sad time. May you have the strength to endure. I offer my condolences.
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Crevin.
I was a classmate of his in elementary school-it seems like ages ago! Even then, he was all about sports, and he was the smartest boy in the class. Mrs. Liffick could count on him to have the right answer ever time.
Please let me know if I can be of any help at all.
Crevin – you were an Inspiration. Although you will be deeply missed in the community, we are all so fortunate to have wonderful and inspiring memories of you and your life that we will carry through life. Thanks for the teaching, the laughs and the memories.
We would like to give our Condolences to Jana, Donald and the entire Ko Family. We are very sorry for the loss of Crevin.

You’ll always be in our thoughts! Miss you!!!
Ko Family. I have been taking care of your piano for several years and it has always been my pleasure to serve you. I was shocked and very sad to see Crevin looking at me from the pages of the Seattle Times. I worked for him just this last winter and he was welcoming and warm as ever. Please accept my condolences for your profound loss.
