Obituary
Curtis Lee Arnold passed in his home on September 12th, 2015. Curt was born on October 7th, 1945 in the Seattle area to his loving parents, Barry and Margaret Arnold.
Curt attended Queen Anne High, and graduated from Edison Tech. His talents in the auto industry landed him a Junior Partner position at the young age of 22! He soon became the very well-known and deeply loved proprietor of the Marqueen Garage on Queen Anne hill for over 40 years.
Curt’s easy going style and his passion for cars, boating, diving and fishing remained a constant throughout his life. He was active in the Everett Sounders dive club in his younger days, and never missed those crazy fun-filled cold and wet Cod fish derbies on Puget Sound. Curt could often be found at the garage after working hours helping Queen Anne kids with their cars. This included his own son who helped out around the shop as a teenager and later worked along beside his dad for many years. When not at the shop he could be found cruising and fishing the waters of Puget Sound and beyond with his wife Betty, or at home tending his garden and his beautiful Begonias.
Curt was one of the good ones that went all too soon. He will be deeply missed by many and forever in the hearts of his wife Betty Durand, his sons Tony and Scott Arnold (Josie), brothers Richard (Joan), Bruce (Kay) and Gary (Judy), sisters Carol (Pat) and Barbara, and extended family and dear friends.

I knew Curtis as a teenager. He had such a great sense of humor, was energetic and a very hard worker. He was good to his boys, a good man and will be missed.
Curt was like a second dad to me. I started hanging around the shop when I was about 15 years old. He taught me many things in all those years. How to work on cars and helped me become A certified diver taught me about boats and fishing, He had A huge hart and would help any one that needed it. I will miss him greatly and so will many others. R.I.P big daddy you will be missed and never forgotten !!!
The most honest man & mechanic I have ever known. I met him when his garage was at lower QA, 70’s ?–The countless times I came in w/issues when he would pop the hood and find just a loose wire or something minor and have me up and running w/out charging. Later, as I got older the same would happen then offer me a beer to boot!! Now that’s hard to find in the biz Curt was in. God bless his family, I will not forget this man–RIP Curt
Curtis and I attended Queen Anne High from 7th grade until we graduated in 1963. After he started working at the Marqueen Garage he became my regular mechanic. Even after I moved from Queen Anne Hill I still took my cars TO him. He was the best and most honest mechanic I have ever delt with. He was also a good man. He will be misswed.

So sorry to hear of his passing, Our Hearts and prayers go out to you all! He was a Great Man whose name will always be remembered respectfully in our home.
Curt was an great guy since I known him for long time since high school when his son Scott and I went to Franklin High school together I always to be with Curt for many years since 1982 at Marqueen garage it was a pleasure to hangout right after work @ 6pm every Friday night. I will miss you Curt. Rest in peace.
