Curtis Lee Duke
April 10, 1968 - January 15, 2018

Obituary
Curtis Lee Duke was born to Yvonne and Clarence L. Duke, Jr. on April 10, 1968. Curtis attended Seattle Public Schools and graduated from Bellingham High School in June 1989.
Curtis was an avid music lover and could recall the names of artists, song titles, and the year many of his favorite songs were released. He had a profound sense of love for family members and friends alike. It did not matter to Curtis whether you were related by blood; he frequently referred to those he loved as auntie, uncle, or cousin.
Curtis had a fondness for fast food and without a doubt Burger King was his favorite hamburger joint. During his November hospital stay and after coming out of the anesthesia he could be heard mumbling “Burger King, Burger King, hamburger, hamburger.” Those present found this to be hilarious.
Curtis departed this life on Monday, January 15, 2018 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) at approximately 12:23pm after being in a coma for 4 weeks at Highline Medical Center in Burien, WA. His mother Yvonne Duke and sister Pauline Duke were present at his bedside.
Curtis was preceded in death by the men in his life: his father, Clarence L. Duke, Jr.; grandfather, William Rivers; godfather, Willie Lewis; cousin, R. Jack Morgan; and godbrother, Frederick Brown.
Curtis leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Yvonne Duke; sisters, Pauline and Lisa Duke; grandmother, Ben Esther Rivers; uncle, Kenneth Rivers; godsister, Patricia Warren; and a host of beloved friends and family members.
Rest in peace, my cousin. The Holy Spirit is with you.
I will keep your family in prayer. May God bless your family.

Our sincere condolences to the family. You’re in our prayers. We will always remember Curtis and his love for music. My first baby boy to claim and spoil.
I am so sad to hear that Curtis passed. He will always hold a special place in my heart. He was so expressive and sure of himself. Nobody was more fun to be around than Curtis when he was in a playful mood–he had a great sense of humor and the sweetest smile. I am so sorry for your loss Mrs. Duke.
