Mrs. Nunogawa was my seventh grade English teacher at Lakota in 1990. How can I explain how wonderful Mrs. Nuno as we called her then was to me? I had started the school year late and at that age anything that makes you feel different is mortifying. Mrs. Nuno, however, reached out to me and seeing my natural love of books, encouraged me to participate in class. She always made me feel special, not just different, and her kindness left a lasting impression on me.
R.I.P Miss Nuno, she was the best English teacher ever and my favorite teacher. Your going to missed by many, but never forgotten.
She was my teacher in my freshman year, if it wasnt for her I wouldnt have passed. Thank you Ms. Nuno for being amazing.
May God be with you,you and your family, You all are remembered in our heart and in our prayers.
You will be missed Ms. Nuno. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Hi,
I taught with Cindy for many years while at Lakota Jr. High 40 yrs. no less She and I taught together as Cindy Eilers and later when she returned as Cindy Nunogawa. Cindy was very special to all of us at Lakota. She was a very caring person and fun to work beside. I taught English and was a reading specialist so we worked together many times. I was shocked to see she has passed away. She really will be missed but I want you to know she was appreciated and loved by many. Sorry I won’t be able to be at her service but I will be there in spirit. I look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Proverbs 3:5,6
Sincerely, Mr. Hayden
Dear Family,
Cindy and I taught together for about 5 years at Sequoia in Kent. We ran the Sound to Narrows race in 1985. Your mom talked me into running with her as I was really not much of a runner. Anyway we both started jogging and getting in shape. We did well. We ran the whole way which was her goal no stopping or walking.
I was shocked and saddened to hear that she had died. I have not seen her for a long time! I was wondering what happened to Cindy and also to her husband? Cindy was always so positive and had a real zest for life. I am truly sorry and my condolences are with you all.

Mrs. Nunogawa, your door was always open to everyone. Chris and I have and will always appreciate the kindness and care that you offered us while I was in your English Class, my freshman year in high school. You had just gotten to know me and you hardly knew Chris but you took us, and mentored as if we were your own children. There are no words to describe how greatly we appreciate you and your great deeds. I am sure as you have welcomed others, God has gladly welcomed you into his eternal kingdom. You will be highly missed.
She was an amazing teacher and good friend with the best personality anyone could ever have.
You were an amazing person and an amazing teacher. You will be missed and you were very much loved! We all love you!
Ms. Nunogawa was my freshman english teacher back in ’07-’08. She always gave me the greatest tips and advice whenever I came to her. I wouldn’t be the same person I am today, if it wasn’t for her. Thank you so much! You will be missed!
Man.. Ms. Nuno. where to begin. you were the most inspirational person i have ever met. You taught me so much. without you i wouldn’t be who i am today.I missed you the day you left after sophomore year. When i learned that you past i swear tears came to my eyes. Whoever did not get the chance of meeting you really missed out. Thank you for all you’ve done for me. You will always be remembered. You are in a better place now. Much love to you and your family.
You were always the great teacher who told me to become the best movie maker. Always kept us entertained when things were grim. I am sure all of us who had your class will miss you. Thank you for being my English teacher since I was Freshman! You will be missed very truly!

Ms. Nuno you were a amazing english teacher, and great person. Had a great time when i was in class and passed it cause you helped me out a bunch. Thankyou for all the help you gave me, and you wont be forgotten. You will always be missed!
I was recently visiting with an old friend. She told me about your passing and I … I gotta say, it hit me pretty hard. I had a hard time in high school and I felt like you were the only person who supported me. You were and still are one of my favorite people of all time. Thank you for being such an amazing person.

Thanks for the educational and ever-amusing Lakota Junior High Journalism class of 1990-1991. Your contagious enthusiasm kept learning fun.
Mrs Nuno was my favorite English teach ever hands down. She was the only teacher that I ever had that was patient with me and she helped get through 9th grade at Lakota. I was a tough student to get along with or even teach. I know I’m a few Years late but I just wanted to say RIP Mrs Nuno. You changed me in so many positive ways and I am forever grateful.
I regret waiting so long to look her up. Middle school was a really hard time for me, and there was a lot of unwanted and unfriendly CPS and counselor involvement in my life, but she was THAT teacher who always made sure I had a home at school, and intelligently critiqued and encouraged my writing in a way that kept me going when anything off-page seemed unbearable.
I really wanted to reach out thank her with all my heart for her long-ignored guidance to look into teaching and writing….. It took awhile, but I’m finally getting around to finishing my teaching degree, and just published my first full-length academic paper. Couldn’t have even imagined doing this without her influence and “cheer-up” cookies.
Mrs. NUNOGAWA
Was a very kind teacher, she was always helping me succeed. Even though I was not applying myself correctly. She showed me attention like a teacher should, and inspired me to do greater in school. One teacher many students will always remember. I enjoyed her in every class I had with her. Very kind teacher. Rest in peace.
Best,
Jimmy Mota
