Daniel Armijo

June 1, 1964 - October 25, 2021

Obituary

Daniel Armijo passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at the age of 57 in his home in Burien, Washington. A kind, loving, and humble man who touched many hearts; he was born in Harbor City, California on June 1, 1964 to Jesse Candelario Armijo, Jr. and Antonia Sanchez Armijo. He grew up in Carson, California with his parents and four siblings before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas with his family in his senior year of high school. After graduating high school from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, he joined the U.S. Army. He served his country proudly for 22 years, serving as an Army Ranger with the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, Army National Guard with the 3rd Battalion 161st Infantry Regiment and finishing his career in the US Army Reserves before eventually retiring as Master Sergeant. He was a strong, dedicated man with a tenacious work ethic which was admired by many of his friends and colleagues.

Daniel was passionate about exercise and was very active within the local CrossFit community. CrossFit truly reignited his love of health and fitness from his time spent in the military. While in the Army, he had completed the requirements to be a member of the 50 and 100 mile “Run For Your Life Clubs”.  He found a deep enjoyment in the team building nature of CrossFit and being surrounded by others who shared his love of fitness. Daniel was also the assistant coach for his daughter Alegra’s soccer team, spending 5 years imparting his knowledge and helping the team to come together to achieve a common goal. Daniel had a strong connection to the outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends, hiking in the Cascades. Some of his favorites included Summit Lake, Snow Lake and Kendall Katwalk. Daniel also possessed a deep love for music, whether it was attending live shows, having it playing while at home cooking or listening to his favorites on road trips while driving his bright orange Jeep. He would also spend much of his time learning how to play guitar. Daniel passed his passion for music onto his children, Timothy and Alegra as well as his partner Jen and enjoyed spending time teaching them to play.

He is preceded in death by his brother Steven Armijo, his mother Antonia Sanchez Armijo, and his father Jesse Candelario Armijo, Jr. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving partner Jennifer Ng; his siblings Violanda Armijo, Michael Armijo, and Gloria Armijo-Winslow; his children Timothy Armijo and Alegra Armijo; his granddaughter Ivanna Crisostomo, whom he adored; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and coworkers. Those that knew Daniel can attest to his gentle, thoughtful nature and are devastated by this sudden loss.

There will be a celebration of life on Monday November 8, 2021 at Logan Brewing Company in Burien from 6:00-9:00pm. Food and cake will be provided. Proof of vaccination or negative covid test will be required for indoor eating but outdoor seating is available for those without.
