Obituary
Dave A Taylor was born July 30, 1927 in Kenosha Wisconsin to Ethel and Archie Taylor. He passed away March 22, 2011 at his home in Puyallup Washington surrounded by his children, Cheryl, Carla, Bill, Cathy and Melissa.
Dave lived in and around the Seattle area for most of his younger years. He went to Cleveland High School and at 17 he joined the Navy and served in WWII, after the war he worked for and retired after 42 years from Kenworth Truck Company.
Dave and his wife Eleanor and their six children lived in Riverton Heights then moved to Federal Way in 1964. After raising their children they moved to Enumclaw where they owned a mobile home park, then later moved to Edgewood. They bought property at Timberlakes near Shelton where the family would all gather during the summer time, this was the time when he was the happiest, at the lake with his family all together. His family was his life, not long after his wife passed away in 1987 he moved to Puyallup to be closer to his family and eventually sold the lake property. He put a swimming pool in his back yard where the family gathered throughout the summer, continuing to make many special memories.
Dave was always the first to offer a hand when there was work to be done, moving right along keeping pace with even the youngest, there wasn’t a project in the family that he wasn’t a part of. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, a true gentleman to the women and also a mans man with the guys. You could always count on him to say what was on his mind. He always loved to go for a ride, with his children all living so near he would jump in his truck and stop by to see them throughout the week, just to say hi and see how things were going. He also loved to drive out to the lake and reminisce, saying how much he missed the property.
Dave is survived by his sister Caroline & husband Bob Bowman also long time dear friend, and his brother Alvin and wife Shirley. His children, daughters Cheryl & husband Mike, Carla & husband John, Kim, Cathy & husband Ed and Melissa, sons Bob and Bill. Also his 9 grandchildren, Raquel & husband Mike, Danielle & husband Rick, Misty & husband Steve, Kristy, David, Dylan, Sara, Brandy & husband Rob and Eddie & wife Holly. He also had 10 great grandchildren, Faith, Chance, Holden, Andrew, Carsen, Lucas, Gianna, Sophia, Shyanne and Michael.

So sorry for your loss, he will be missed by many. Thank you for all the memories!
I will always be gratefull to have had Dave in my life. He was always a good friend and a good coworker. If it wasn’t for him I would have never got a job a Kenworth. He always had a helping hand and always had something to say. He will be missed and thought of everyday. Rest in peace Dave. Everybody will miss you
Uncle Dave will surely be missed. He was truly a caring, loving, and genuine individual. You never had to guess what was on his mind. My heart goes out to all the family, but there are so many great memories. I, like uncle Dave, miss the lake property and the Taylor family reunions there. Love you all.
Uncle Dave was very special to me. Most of my memories are with him always surrounded by loved ones. He made you feel like family even if you weren’t. His home was always open to everyone and between him and Auntie Eleanor, they wouldn’t take no for an answer if you dropped by at dinner time. I ALWAYS felt welcome there and spent a lot of time with all my cousins as well. My heart goes out to you all now, and I’ll continue to keep all of Uncle Dave’s loved ones in my prayers.
Love,
Jeannie
Dave was a very special brother-in-law and friend and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Love,
Auntie Connie

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you mourn the loss of Dave, today and in the days to come. Our hope is that he live on in your precious memories and in the person you each are because he was in your life,
