Obituary

David Johnson, 81, beloved spouse, son, brother, and grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on January 1, 2024. He entered this world on September 29, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan, born to Verne and Olive Johnson.

Dave lived most of his earlier life in Anchorage, Alaska. He worked for Alaska Airlines for 45 years in maintenance. He had his private pilot license and owned several airplanes during his time in Alaska. David enjoyed landing his float plane on a lake in Alaska to go fishing. He was also a downhill skier, who competed in racing, in addition to enjoying scuba diving in Honduras and Mexico.

Dave is preceded in death by both his parents, and his son, Robbie (David Robert) Johnson.

He is survived by his spouse Dee Ann Koehnke; step-son Chad Koehnke (Mary Alison), three grandchildren; Evelyn, Bria, and Avery (just born 12/29/2023); sister Bonnie Jefferson of Kennewick, Washington; brother Todd Bennett of Bellevue, Washington; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral mass is planned for Friday, January 26th, at 2 P.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 30525 8th Ave. S. Federal Way, Washington 98003.

In lieu of flowers, suggested donations include the American Cancer Society, NFCR (National Foundation of Cancer Research), Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
