Obituary
David Martin Zehnder of GigHarbor passed away at the age of 83 on August 18, 2018 in Puyallup, WA.
He was born on March 30, 1935 in Fife, WA to Joseph and Grace Zehnder.
David graduated from High School in 1953 and joined the Army. After his military service he attended the University of Washington for 2 years before focusing on his long time career at Emery Air Freight where he met the love of his life Ruth in the lunch room they both shared.
They were married and with their daughter Linda the family went on many camping trips and enjoyed spending time on their boat. David had a passion for fishing, hunting, and gardening and as he grew older enjoyed wood carving. He also greatly enjoyed traveling in his RV, and most recently working with Pen-Met Parks as camp host.
David is survived by his daughter Linda Zehnder of GigHarbor; grandchildren Anna Dukes of Port Orchard and David Dukes (Heather) of GigHarbor.
He is also survived by his most beloved friend and companion, Lubby Cat, also of Port Orchard.
David was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Zehnder.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1pm at the Agnus Dei Lutheran Church, located at 10511 Peacock Hill Ave NW, Gig Harbor, WA98332.
