Obituary

Michael Eugene Wiley Sr was born on September 27, 1957 in Calhoun, Louisiana to the late James Wiley and Roberta Wiley.  Michael was raised by his father until his death in 1968.  Michael than moved to Seattle, WA with his oldest brother Prentis Wiley and moved in with his brother Kevin Williams and his mom Barbara Williams.  He stayed there and attended Lincoln High School in Seattle, through his sophomore year. Michael then moved with Sister Mary Jewel and Eligah Wafer in 1974 where he transferred to Juanita High School for his Junior and Senior year. Michael graduated and went on to Bellevue Community College. Where he continued his love for basketball. In 1979 Michael met and dated until 1982 when he took her hand in marriage his love Joyce Marie Harris Wiley this union produces a blended family  where Shuron Delgardo and Alex Wiley welcome Michael Jr. Where they became a wonderful happy family that extended to four grandson’s and two granddaughters. Michael gave his life to the Lord. Up until his Kidney transplant he served as a Deacon and continued to serve and talk of the Lord daily.

Michael was preceded in the promotions to glory by both his parents and siblings. Prentis Wiley, Mary Alice Powell, Lula B. Zeigler.

Alive to celebrate his memory, his loving wife of 39 yrs, Joyce Marie Wiley, sisters, Gloria Jean Rainwater, Mary Jewel Wafer, Willie Ruth George (Joseph), James Edward Wiley, Daughter, Shuron Delgardo, Sons Alex Wiley (Christina), Michael Wiley Jr (Brittney), six grand kids: Quierra Farr, Luna Wiley, Rowan Wiley, Micah Wiley, Kyrie Wiley, Laidan Wiley, Mother in Law Ruby Harris, Sister in law Betty Gray, Judy Harris, Brother in law Walter Harris Jr, Curtis Harris (Marsha), Eugene Harris (Marva), Eddie Harris, and a host of Nieces and Nephews, acquaintances and friends.

ISAIAH 40:31- But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Michael. We lived across the street from him in Kirkland and attended JHS together. Great ball player and great guy. Thoughts to his family and the Wafer family. Nick Blackstone
