Obituary
Delores Alexander
March 30, 1928 ~ June 16, 2013
Delores Alexander was born in Galveston, Texas to Raphael and Rosa Kidd. When the family moved to Seattle, Delores returned to Galveston and graduated from Central High School. The family spent time in Alaska before moving to Seattle permanently.
Delores spent thirteen years as an Office Administrator for the Seattle Police Department. She later became a loading dock coordinator with the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed twenty-four years of working outdoors with the “guys.”
In her early adulthood, she was an avid bowler and later became the Seattle Mariners biggest fan. She maintained an active social life even as she experienced health challenges. She enjoyed visits with friends, luncheons with her club “The Birthday Girls” and her many trips to Portland to visit her dear companion, Paul Williams and his family.
Deloris cherished and loved her dog Mocha for many years. She was loved by many and will be remembered for her kindness, grace and loving support to others.
She leaves behind a sister, Velita Byrd, brother-in-law, Donald Byrd, a niece, Rosalund Gale, a nephew, Raphael Murrell, devoted cousins, Cheryl Bolling, Brenda Mahoney, and a host of caring relatives and friends. The family is also grateful for her devoted and loving caregiver, Mary Love Shavers.
Dear Auntie, I will always love you. I thank you for the many lessons learned. Patience, support and always seeing the good in all situations. You were a true inspiration to all. I’ll hold you in my heart forever. Your niece, Rosalund

Sadden to hear of Delores’s death. I read about it too late to show my respects. I worked with her at the Seattle Post Office–Terminal Annex.

DELORES was a very dear friend from
long, long ago..
So sorry to hear about Delores passing away – I have known Delores since 1980 – maybe even longer as her tax preparer – first met her in the Northgate office and have been doing her returns since 1986 from my home. Very fond memories of my friend – rest in peace.
