my sweet friend and mentor I will miss you ..you will live on in all the lives you touched…I hope you are looking at us and laughing that beautiful laugh as we go through our days…Diane I love you and thank you so much for your friendship…Heidi
Diane was a courageous, compassionate, fun loving, caring woman who loved her family and friends. She loved sharing life with her family and friends- whether it be enjoying a good meal or taking belly-dancing lessons. Diane also loved being a nurse. People who worked with Diane remember her clinical proficiency and her hands on approach to caring for patients. Others acknowledge her calmness- no matter how frantic the pace reached, no matter what symptoms patients manifested, or how other staff reacted, Diane remained serenely calm. Diane’s calmness permeated to others, and many staff would go see Diane to help recapture a feeling of calmness during a particularly stressful day.
Diane always had a bright smile that warmed the room. She was friendly and welcoming, and it was impossible not to feel that warmth and welcoming energy radiating from her person. She understood that we care for patients when they are the most vulnerable, and that nursing was about not only treating the symptoms, but also providing a safe and understanding environment for patients at their most vulnerable time.
Diane loved being a nurse and shared with me that one of the saddest things about having to leave, due to her illness, was that she would no longer be able to practice nursing.
One of the measures for anyone who is a health professional is identifying at the end of the day that they made a difference in the lives of at least one person. Diane made a difference every day in the lives of patients, staff and her family and friends.
All of us who were blessed to work with Diane at Federal Way Medical Center will always carry a piece of Diane’s spirit in our hearts.
Jayne

To Diane’s Family I send my sympathy and strength to cope with Diane’s passing. I remember her in the happiest times I ever had at the Federal Way Clinic. All of the encounters I had with Diane were great. She made all of them a fun experience, even when she was encouraging me to stay in school and keep going. For this, I will always remember and cherish her. She made a lot of people smile and laugh. She left an imprint in my life as she did to many others. God Bless Diane and her family during this difficult time.

Diane will be greatly missed.
Diane was a part of our lives for 19+ years as Group Health patients. Her passing saddens us and we offer our sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues.
During challenging times when our now 19 year old son was a baby, Diane’s gentle way and professional demeanor made a huge difference for our family.
Much to our surprise, Diane moved to Federal Way, so we were blessed to have see her and be part of a wonderful medical team once again!
Her spirit and love will live on for all whose lives she touched. May your memories sustain you during this time of loss.
