Dolores Marie Weier, 84, was born in Michigan in 1928 to Wanda (nee Kowaleski) and Edmund Swieczkowski. She married Leonard A. Weier in 1950. Together, they had three children, Jeffrey (Jill), Todd (Theresa), and Darlene (Eric).

They raised their children in homes in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. She was a fabulous cook and home decorator who devoted herself to her family, friends, children’s schools and church. She loved entertaining, bowling, shopping, playing bridge and cards, and all animals. Leonard passed away in 1984.

Dolores continued her love of family and creativity by crafting many items. Her beautifully decorated cakes were always requested for celebrations. In addition, she made many decorative items for her home and as gifts. She loved spending time with her friends.

She finished the last 5 of her 84 years in Washington state, living with her oldest son and family. Until her passing on November 14, 2012, she received excellent and loving care at Garden Terrace in Federal Way, WA.

Her parents and siblings, Betty Blazejewski and Raymond Suede preceded her in death.

Dolores cherished everyone of her nine grandchildren: Chris (Katie), Kati, Cameron, Anne, Allie, and Ashley, Alex, Andy, and Tori. Her newest delight was her first great grandson, Noah. She loved her many nieces and nephews and was especially close to her sister’s daughters, Paula (Ross) Hood and Lynne Blazejewski.

Cremation will take place and no formal services are scheduled at this time. Bonney-Watson; Federal Way has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made as a donation to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati. Please visit www.dsagc.com

To the Entire Weier Family (Jieff, Jill, Todd, Theresa, Darlene, Eric, Grandchildren and Great Grandchild)

•Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather, openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

May you see that shining star tonight and every night.

Our thoughts and our prayers are with you.

Dolores was beloved by my entire family. She was gracious and welcoming. We were privileged to know her.

Oh, how she loved pretty things of all types…flowers, purses, jewelry, and all beautifully presented of course. She herself looked so pretty at Chris and Katie’s wedding, I am so glad she had such a wonderful event for her last big party.

Our favorite memories of Dolores will always include visions of her with a small dog on her lap.

Our sympathy to all of you.

We have been certainly blessed to have had such a wonderful, loving, and kind spirited Aunt Dolores in our lives but especially family. She so loved all of her children which was outwardly expressed by all her actions of genuineness.

Auntie, also adored her younger sister Betty Jane. Our mother always visited her sister in Columbus, Ohio. They shopped, laughed, and enjoyed simple conversation. She was especially good to my sister and I, sharing her lovely home to both of us. Aunt Dolores was a true christian in my eyes because of her love for family, friends, and church. I especially feel blessed for being able to visit Aunt Dolores, Jeff, Jill, Chris/Katie, Katie, and Cameron knowing the unconditional care they gave to Auntie during these last years of her life. I love You and You are with your Husband NOW! It has been a long time….You will be missed so.
