Obituary
“Dona Maria” Alves DeOliveira
Mae, at the age of 80 passed away on May 9, 2006, surrounded by the loving members of her family. She was born in Colinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 27, 1925. Mae was a devoted mother to her five boys Luiz, Paulo, Eli, Marco and Ricardo. Nothing was more important to Mae than her extended family, Casia, Alice, Jean, Patty and her grandchildren Christina, Regina, Sergio, LeAnn, Ricardo, Jon, Gerson, Alan, Ana, Angela, Scottie, Emerson, Charlotte and Jonathan. As well as her great grandkids. Mae also had a very, very special friend, Danielle, who Mae considered a member of her family.
Her loving parents Jeronimo and Corina Pereira preceded Mae in death. Two brothers in Brazil, Domiciano and Calixto along with their extended family also survive her.
Mae was a gentle and kind-hearted person who touched many lives, especially during the time she arrived in the United States from Brazil in 1968. Her home was open to many Brazilians arriving in Seattle looking for their new venture. Her home was well known as “Dona Maria’s” welcome house where you could always stop by for Brazilian food and friendship.
A private and small service will be conducted at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park in SeaTac, Monday, at 1:00pm on May 22, 2006. Remembrances can be made in Mae’s name to the American Cancer Society, 728 134th St. SW, #101, Everett, WA 98204.
