Obituary
Donald Victor Versaevel, 85, passed away on May 10, 2021, due to complications from diabetes. Born on January 6, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota from Belgium immigrants. He moved to Seattle, WA in the seventies to work for Machinist, Inc. as an Industrial painter for over 40 years until his retirement in his seventies.
After moving to Seattle, he met his second wife Soon Ok Kim from Pusan, Korea. They dated for five years and were happily married for over forty years. Don was a quiet and gentle individual, but had an enormous heart. He was always taking time to have a meal with a friend to driving thousands of miles to see his biological children in Minnesota.
He never missed sending a birthday and Christmas card to his children and grand kids. Always willing to help a family member and friend out financially to even strangers.
Don served his country with justice and honor in the Armed forces from 1955-1961.
He accepted Jesus Christ after driving Kay to church every Sunday and became a deacon later in his life.
He is survived by his wife Soon Ok Kim, who he called Kay, step-daughter Myong Ja Park, (Mia) daughters Jan, Jodi, and Jill, 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his brother Jerry, sister Rosemary and 3 great-grandchildren. May he Rest In Peace in heaven.
A open casket viewing will be held on May 21, 20201 at 9:00 AM and memorial service, 10:30 am at Bonney-Watson in SeaTac.
