Pat and Sue, I was so sorry to see this news about your Dad. His passing made me think of Michael again too. I remember when we were in gradeschool Marilee and I coming over to your house. I remember meeting your Dad. He was quiet but very warm. I also remember him being very artistic. I am truely saddened at the news. Its a very hard thing losing loved ones. My very best wishes to you both during this time.

I use to remember when I used live about 100 yards away from his house. He was a lively person with great knowledge. Its been many years since I’ve seen him cause of being in the Navy and traveling around. I was hoping to see him soon, but now I wont be able too. I would love to attend but being station at Naval Hospital Guam i won’t be able too.

Don and his siblings grew up across the big intersection from me from 1936 until I graduated fro HS in 44.

We play baseball and sandlot football in Youngberg’s Field Pasturewhich was between our homes at the big intersection at the base of Brummer’s Hill. Don, my brother Brooks class of 46 and I did many of the usual things young boys do growing up. I have fond memories of him in my childhood.

Pat,Sue,Matt, my sincest condolences. your father worked with mine in Industrial Arts education for many years, and I had the privelege of working a couple of Summers with, Don,George, and my dad. The three of them all doing thier best to educate me in the ways of building, and all of them hard of hearing, it reminded me every day of “who’s on first” Sue do remember charter fishing out of Westport? Best from Bert3, and Helen Bell

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. He was an amazing man who lived life to the fullest. He was not only the kind of man people wanted to be, he was the kind of man people would be proud to be.

With deepest sympathy,

Danielle

My condolences to the family and all who were close to Don.I was just describing him to someone who did not know him,and it was remarkable that the good things about him came out so naturally. Cheerful, positive, helpful, and always the teacher. I am personally thankful for having known him.

Sue,

Sorry to hear of your loss. It’s been at least 25 years since we’ve had contact. I was one of the souls you helped through high school when you did your student teaching.
