Obituary
Donna Mae Waters Tomaso passed away on May 4, 2021 with family by her side.
She was born on November 15, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Helen and Harry Waters.
As a child, she enjoyed summers at the family farm in Saint Michael, Minnesota. At age 16 her family moved to Seattle, Washington. She would return to Minnesota for many family reunions and always had wonderful stories to share about her cousins and family.
She attended and graduated from Foster High School. She also attended Seattle University and it was during these years that she was introduced to Louie Tomaso by her best and lifelong friend Marie.
Donna and Louie eloped in September 1949 and started their family. They had 7 children. They were married until Louie passed away in June 1985.
Her life was busy taking care of her children. After her children were grown, she was able to travel with Louie on his out of state jobs. She loved those years being on the job sites with Louie.
Her many interests included bowling (40 years with the same group of women), golf, reading, collecting polished rocks, antiques and traveling. Some of her favorite places were Palm Springs, Hawaii, Mexico, Italy, Paris, Ireland and England. She also loved to walk on the beach. She was both a Husky and Seahawk Fan. Donna even tried cross country skiing in her late 50’s.
After Louie passed away, Father Garvin persuaded Donna to help in the St. Thomas Parish Office. He would not take no for an answer. She spent many years working in the office and was a 60 – year parishioner of Saint Thomas Catholic Church.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Harry, daughter Gail Marie and husband Louis J. Tomaso
She is survived by her sister Kathy, children Nancy, Karen, Mike, Steve (Diane), Tony (Diana), Don (Mary), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
