We were neighbors in the brand new Pleasant Heights addition on 47th Avenue South (Seattle, now Tukwila) in 1959-77, and our children and Wagners’ children attended Crestview Elementary School, walking a no-traffic path to/from the school. Our children enjoyed many friendships created in this neighborhood. Doris was a wonderful friend for me, and John helped my husband Keith with a major backyard project. It was a very friendly neighborhood and our children have great memories of their early childhood.

When I read the obituary I was surprised to learn that she was from Buckley, where my Grandpa John A. Johnson, lived on Cottage Street. My Sumner classmate Rosemary Johnson Blanusa lived in Buckley until December 2024; she passed on March 3, 2025.

I wish we had communicated more after we moved to Federal Way in 1977. They were wonderful neighbors and helped make childhood delightful for our brood.

May they rest in peace!
