We were long time neighbors of Doris. We looked out for each other. We introduced her to the Lutheran church which she was hesitatant to due because of the German roots (she had strong opinions!) but was won over because we said the Lord’s Prayer the way the church of England did. She shared many stories about growing up in England during the war. Our favorite was her sticking her tongue out at the young princesses, Elizabeth and Margaret while they rode by. We had lots of good times and laughs together. She joined us for family celebrations and holidays. We lost touch with her after she moved from her first nursing home. We think about her each time we look into her backyard and see her beautiful roses. A real English rose she was! May you rest in peace dear friend. We love you.
