Obituary
Dorothy E. Hedlund was born July 20, 1929, and died December 20, 2004, after a
battle with cancer. Dorothy was born in Bellingham, and grew up in Kendall, WA.
In 1947, she was co-valedictorian of her class at Mount Baker High School. She
went on and graduated from Business College. In 1954, she married William E.
Hedlund. She worked for Seattle First National Bank and others for several
years until the birth of her children. After the children were all in school,
she worked for the Federal Way School District for many years and retired in
1995.
Most of all, Dorothy loved her children and grandchildren. She loved her cats,
the color pink, and going out to eat. She was a great cook, and loved to try
new recipes. She will always be remembered and missed so much by her family and
friends. She was a wonderful mother. She was always patient, always available,
and ready to help anytime. She was loved very much.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lynn Austin Mark, and Lisa Torres
Roger; son, William Hedlund Jennifer; four grandchildren, Billy, Sabrina,
Aidan, and Ariana. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William
E. Hedlund in 1995. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 12/22/04 from 12:00
Noon – 8:00 PM at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd.,
Sea Tac WA 206 242-1787. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Thursday, 12/23/04, at 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Parish, St. Anthony Chapel,
310 – 3rd Avenue, Kent, WA.
