I met Dwayne in July 2005, when I was transferred to Seattle. I immediately took a liking to him as he always quick to offer advice and suggestions on improving our processes. I will miss him.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dwayne for 20 years. He taught me a lot about work and how to truly laugh. Dwayne will be missed, not only for his technical expertise but also his sense of humor and his unique personality. My condolences to his family. God Bless
Dwayne was a great friend and a true mentor during my time working with him at The Boeing Company. He always encouraged me to step back and view the bigger picture, and he truly knew what was important, and what was superficial. Family always came first to Dwayne, and he made sure everyone he came in contact with paid attention to their own family’s well-being. I am sad to have been so far away the last couple of years. I will miss him very much.
I have many fond memories of my Uncle Dwayne. He loved to show my sister and me his collections: cribbage boards, videos, guns, and more. It was always fun to spend time visiting. I will miss him.
Dwayne was a true friend… If anyone needed something he would be there rain or shine, hell or high water. I will always have fond memories of the years we lived across the street, and the time we spent together. True friends live on in our hearts and memories forever.
I hired Dwayne into Computing Security from the B-1 program in 1991. He made significant contributions to our National Security and to the Boeing Company. He served in the USAF overseas maintaining our deterrence systems. I worked with him off and on over the years and considered him to be a mentor. He could think on his feet and offer commom sense guidance. He would check up on you, like a coach, and would leave you with something positive to take you to the next level. He cared very much about his family. I am proud to have worked with him.
The best of neighbors and a dear and valued friend. He was a big part of our life for the past 30 plus years. Always willing to help solve a house problem, loan out any type of equipment from his garage. We will miss Dwayne greatly and join his family in their loss.
Dwayne,
You have been a friend of mine for a number of years and we have worked together well. We have had a number of challenges because our programs were on the leading edge of technology and demanded that we always looked to the future to protect the information with which we were entrusted. I think we did one hell of a good job and I know that from the Kudos we received, our customers and subcontractors felt the same. 90 percent of this was due to your knowledge and desire to serve others in our respective fields of strength. You and I made a damn good team and I am very glad that God allowed our paths to cross and to allow us to work together as a team to serve bosses, various customers and those who counted on us to keep them out of the doo-doo. Rest in peace my very good friend and I will always be thankful that I had the opportunity to know you and count on you as one of my close friends. Go in Peace and serve the Lord.
My sincerest condolences to Kathy and the family. Wayne was like a brother to many of those of us who worked closely with him. He was a true friend and he will be missed.
Dwayne was a great friend and will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dwayne’s family. God Bless All of you.
Good-Bye Dwayne and Thanks for your guidance when I first started working with you. I loved your devotion to your family and enjoyed listening to you talk about your camping trips! Best wishes to his family. To his grandson, I say that he talked about you all the time and he was a very proud grandfather.
We talked every morning, shared jokes and stories and laughed. I must have heard a thousand stories from Dwayne and never got tired of hearing them. He was a mentor and great friend.
Later D-Wayne! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me & course the “sea food” restaurants’. I know you are up there smiling and telling everyone where you went fishing. I will miss you buddy, however I know we will meet again.

Dwayne was always ready to give a helping hand and support at Drew’s baseball games. He and I would put a tarp over the baseball dug-out so the boys could keep dry when it rained and help coach when needed. He will be deeply missed and our hearts and prayers go out to his loving family.
From the Richards Family. Lisa, Christopher and grandpa.
Great guy with a great sense of humor! I’ll miss our chats. God Bless my friend.
My prayers go out to the family knowing that he is in a much better place.
Dwayne was a great man, good friend, and someone that is truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.
Thinking of you at this difficult time.
Dwayne is at peace – no pain, no fear, no tears – may the warm wind always be at his back and the sun smile on a man who loved his family and his country – may God Bless the Jones Family – may his memories put a smile on your faces.
Dear Kathy and Angie we send our sincerest condolences. We have been remembering some fun times we had with guys.
Love to you all.
Dwayne really cared about people and had an encouraging word when we had our tough times. I wish you well Dwayne in your next journey.
I send heartfelt sympathy to Kathy, Angie, Drew and Dwayne’s brother. Dwayne flew out to Maui to assist our Security Department twice. He stayed a few weeks and made a huge impact. I was struggling at the time, and he was my Rock of Gibraltar. He backed me up, encouraged me, and I always felt stronger with him around. After he returned home, we continued to keep in contact. I felt comfortable asking for career advice and he guided me well. He was a rare person who made me feel smart and that I was a valuable member of the team. I will miss everything about him.
With Fondest Aloha,
Barbara Fujimoto
my heart goes out to you at this sad time. may god give you strength through this. Uncle Dwayne was a good man. with love from your nephew and cousin, Dwayne
Dwayne was a pleasure to work with. His witt and sense of humor made work enjoyable and always brought a smile to those who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to your wife Kathy, your daughter and grandson. May God give them strength in this difficult time.
Kathy, Angie & Drew
We were saddened to here about Dwayne,he will be missed by many. It was wonderful when as neighbors we became friends.
What we will remember most is his smile, easy laugh & just being a very good person, who would help you with anything. You are all in our thought & prayers.
When I first starting working for Boeing everyone had advise on how to act and what was important to pay attention to. I only recall what Dwayne told me….”It’s not how you step, it’s what you step in.” Dwayne always honestly told it the way it was and didn’t hold anything back. He had a unique way of looking at things that always made you pause be sure you had covered every detail. My condolences and prayers go out to his family.
I was at Dwayne and Kathy’s wedding and was his sister-in-law for over 41 years. Dwayne was a kind and generous person. He was the king of “I know a fellow who knows…”. He could produce whatever it was that you needed or wanted no matter how obscure! And he would spend whatever time it took to get it too! And not just for family, he would help anyone any time. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Both Dave and I the “other” Kathy Jones offer prayers for strength and peace for Kathy, Angie and Drew–and all our love.
Lovingly remembering my life-long best friend. Dwayne always looked to others needs long before his own.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jones family at this time. Like many others at Boeing, I had the privilege to work for and with Dwayne on the B1B program for nearly a decade. I considered him a mentor, leader and friend who always had time for guidance and a helping hand. Although I still don’t know how he could find anything on that messy desk of his, there was no question when it came time to tackle a complex project or quick action his talent was tops. Thank you Dwayne for the time you spent as a mentor and friend you will be well thought of appreciated and missed – God bless.
