Obituary

“Death is not a tragedy for those who have Faith.”

Eddie Turner was born in Warren, Arkansas on September 12, 1912 to the late Allen and Rose Turner. Eddie was the youngest of nine siblings, all which preceded him in death. Eddie joined Mr. Pisgah Baptist Church and remained a faithful member.

On the second Sunday in April, 1930, Eddie married Beatrice Martin. To this union, eleven children were born. Eddie was a loving husband and father who provided for his family with a host of jobs until finally, retiring from the Union Parish School District.

Eddie moved to Seattle, WA in 1996, to be near his children. His loving wife, Beatrice, of 73 years and three sons, Paxton, J. W. and Earl Turner preceded him in death.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Grady Turner and Eddie Turner, Jr. of Seattle, WA; six daughters, Pearlie Thompson James of Seattle, WA: CleEster Turner of Seattle, WA, VeEster Lyles Harrison of Portland, OR, Robbie Turner of Seattle, WA, Lestine Randle James of Seattle, WA and Shirley Thomas Michael of Seattle, WA. Thirty-seven grandchildren and a host of great and great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. Today the journey has ended behind is life, its longings, its trials, its troubles and its sorrows. This is just another soldier gone to the great reward. He fought the fight, he kept the faith and now he’s gone home to God.
