Edith Chapman Bruell
April 13, 1921 – April 27, 2005
Edith Chapman Bruell died peacefully at her home in Federal Way, with her loving family. Edith was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi, became a Registered Nurse, and worked in San Francisco. There she met her future husband, Bertold Bruell, MD, who preceded her in death in 1995.
Edith is survived by her daughter Chaille; daughter Stephany and her husband Beau Sadick; son Mark; son David and his wife Jan and their children Marco, Gianpaolo and Alexander; brother Wayne Chapman; sister Eva Shaw; sister Jenny Pennington; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held Friday, April 29. The family suggests remembrances to Franciscan Hospice.
From the very beginning, Edith and I shared a unique and special friendship that allowed us the freedom to just “BE”. Our love of plants and flowers first brought us together and many hours were spent during springs and summers touring both of our yards and Edith’s garden. She was always so very generous in sharing treasures from her garden. My funniest memory of Edith revolves around a lemon meringue pie she served one day. We each enjoyed a generous slice with coffee. Upon calling her the next day to thank her, she admitted that she had eaten the remainder of the pie that evening. I still have visions of how she must have enjoyed that lemon pie while watching TV that evening. So many memories that I will always hold dear. I am so thankful that she came into my life 20 years ago. I will always love her and feel blessed by what we shared. Our little one lane unpaved road will never be the same. We send healing prayers to Edith’s family and please know we hold you in our hearts. With light, Jacqueline & Walter Millard

Edith was a special person, and I am sorry we never managed to see each other more. I am sorry she is gone.
My condolences to the family for their loss. I didn’t personally know Mrs. Bruell but was a patient of Dr. Bruell whom I admired.
I will miss my dear friend Edith very much, our get-to-gethers, happy chats, her tickled laugh and our shared love of family, home and gardening. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Sincerely, Tom and Rosemarie Masotto
Our sincerest condolances to the Bruell Family. Dr. Bruell was my father’s doctor from age 14 until the day he retired and my doctor from birth until my early 20’s. Mrs. Bruell was a lovely woman. After Dr. Bruell’s passing I always enjoyed it when we would run into each other occasionally and visit. Even after all these years she STILL remembered, not only my father & mother but my father’s parents as well and always asked after everyone. We had exchanged Christmas cards for the past few years. She will be greatly missed. We think of both of them often, fondly and with love and affection.
