Semper Fi Dad!
Thank you for adopting us so many years ago and loving and raising us kids as your naturals. You were a super Dad even in spite of the occasional “Kugler Look” and we love you very much for that. Rest in peace and rejoice with those you’ve joined in Heaven. Happy Birthday on your 86th birthday on July 2nd!
Rest in peace Uncle Ed. Love Ron.
We will miss you grandpa.
Opinionated, irascible, but totally devoted to his family. He will be missed. My heart goes out for his wife and family.
We sometimes held deep differences of opinions about some of life’s big issues, Ed…..but you taught me a lot about respecting a person’s right to state their opinion, by allowing and even encouraging me to do so when I first met you as a very young and impressionable 18 year old. Your fierce commitment to your family, friends and country was one of the many things I loved about you. Your family loved you deeply in return. My last visit with you, at Matt’s wedding, was a loving and emotional one. Peace and love, Ed.

Dad was born and raised in North Dakota, served 7 years proudly in the USMC. He served on the front lines in battles at the end of WWII and in Korea (1945 to 1952) receiving two purple hearts as a result and many other commendations.
As a skilled welder he was a long time member of the Boilermakers Union working for Almetco Aluminum (when he married Mom), Todd and Lockheed Shipbuilding Companies, Boeings, and lastly in a handy man sort of position in Maintenance for Carnation which he loved.
Mom and Dad retired to Arizona shortly after an extended RV trip around the country and lived there for well over 20 years. Dad did some hiking, tried his hand at golf on a desert course next door to their Park, and met lots of good friends along the way. He was a long time Veterans of Foreign War Member and went dancing at the local VFW EVERY Friday night and sat at the same table with Mom and Wendy. That’s where Dad met Wendy when she asked him to dance! A USMC plaque with his photo in uniform and dates of his military duty was posted on the ceiling right above where he planted himself to dance.
He was a good Dad to the three of us that he adopted after he and Mom married and raised as his own biological children. He was a loving good husband to my Mother. Two years after Mom died he was fortunate to meet and marry Wendy. He was a good husband to her as well and grew fond of his step children. They all loved him as well. We all became familiar with the occasional “Kugler Look”!
Dad had a bad heart attack back in February and really hadn’t felt well since then. In and out of the hospital with heart attacks and kidney failure, he got sick and tired of being sick and tired; therefore wished to leave this world and rejoice in heaven with the Lord and all of his loved ones.

we miss you dad. be at peace.
My Grandpa was a great man; he never liked being the center of attention. In life and now in death, he wouldn’t want us to focus on him. He wouldn’t want us to focus on the sadness of his death, but instead focus on the happiness in our lives. He would want us to appreciate each other and our future.
Grandpa will always be remembered by those of us who knew him and loved him. Although we will miss his smiles his pranks, and his love.
Grandpa has always said that his grandchildren kept him young at heart .That made me feel good inside. He was a great teacher to have, not only for me, but also for everybody. He was selfless and kind. He loved being a parent and grandparent. It was his calling in life.
Grandpa, I will always miss you. But I have so many wonderful memories to hang on to. You were a role model, and a friend to me your guidance and love will carry me through to the end of my days. I love you Grandpa, until we meet again.
Your loving Grandson Clint.
