Obituary
Eiko OTSU, age 83 of Renton, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Eiko was born February 1, 1929, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Kesahiro and Fumiko Iwashita, the youngest of four children. During WWII, her family was relocated to Edmonton, Alberta, where she graduated from high school. Eiko attended the University of Alberta receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Household Economics. After University, she moved to Toronto where she interned and worked at Toronto General Hospital as a dietitian. She married Makoto Otsu on February 6, 1954, in Toronto. They moved to Renton, Washington, in 1957 and Eiko worked at Doctors Hospital in Seattle until she retired in 1980. Eiko was well known for her outgoing and friendly personality and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She belonged to Tokiwa Women’s Golf Club and the ladies club at Meridian Valley Golf and Country Club. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with family, lunch dates with her girlfriends, tap dancing at the Renton Senior Center, and trying her luck on the slot machines at local casinos. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Makoto Otsu; daughter, Lorraine Munekiyo (Richard); two grandchildren, Amy and Erin. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or The American Cancer Society.

Remembering Eiko and the good golf we used to play, many years ago. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
Over the years Eiko and I became very close friends. I loved her like a sister and will miss her very much.
