Obituary
Eileen Conway-Best – age 93 – passed away peacefully to the arms of her Lord on March 14, 2016 with her children at her side. She was prededed in death by her husband of many years, James Conway and her deceased husband of recent years, Worth Best.
Eileen was born in Davenport North Dakota where she was the first of her siblings to venture from the family farm and attended North Dakota State School of Science. After school she moved to find her roots in Seattle, where she married and raised her children.
In Seattle started her career as a secretary at Sears Roebuck and later retired as an office manager for the Washington State Highway Deparment.
Eileen was passionate about elections and worked as a volunteer for the elections station near the family home. She and her husband, Jim, raised all three children in the same home in SeaTac, WA where gardening was their passion. She loved dinners with her family, playing cards, traveling (the beach) and activities with their Lutheran church.
Eileen is survived by her loving children, Donna Dittmar, granddaughter Angela Gaffney ( Patrick), grandsons Matthew and Bryan Dittmar, son’s Jim Conway (Sheryl), their children Sean and Kelli Conway, and Randy Conway (Becky), their children Alicia Clifton, Craig Conway, stepchildren Renee Patterson and Cody MacKinnon. She had 9 grandchildren and 11 great-granchildren soon to be 12. She also had 5 stepchildren from her second marriage to Worth Best.
Eileen is one of 8 siblings with one surviving sister, Marlys Grindberg of Davenport ND.
As a mother and grandmother, Eileen was a wealth of historical information and had an inspiring sense of humor and loved the Lord. She is dancing in Heaven.
The family would like to thank the wonderful care she received at her past residences, Evergreen Place, The Foundation House and Loving Ones Adult Homes.
Special thanks to her Group Health Hospice team, who provided great care and compassion for her and our family.
A celebration of life memorial will be on held Saturday April 9th at Bonney Watson Memorial in SeaTac, WA at 1:00 pm.
I’m so sorry I will not be able to attend the service, I’ve had a vacation planned for a year. Everyone will be in my heart and prayers. I was so blessed to have such a wonderful step-mother and friend. I have so many happy memories of her and her wonderful family. She will be missed. Love you Eileen and family.
