Eileen Margaret Grann was born to Lester and Grace Brusse on a farm near Carpenter, SD on May 8, 1919. She had 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Her family moved to Huron, SD and there Eileen met and married Kenneth Moore. They had two daughters, Judith and Anita. Ken and Eileen moved to Seattle, WA in 1942 in search of work. She worked as a jitney driver for Boeing Company during WWII. She was widowed in 1948 when Ken was killed in an industrial accident. She took over her husband’s real estate company by getting her broker’s license, insurance broker’s license and becoming a notary public.
She met and married Clifford Grann of Carpenter, SD in 1949 and they had one daughter, Lane. They moved to Jamestown, ND in 1954 where she worked various jobs. They moved to Seattle in 1963 where Eileen again worked for Boeing as a sealer. She took great pride in her work always. She loved to play cards and to bowl in leagues. I will miss my grandmother in this life, but rejoice that I will see her again in heaven. My husband and children are thankful for her and the love that she provided. She was such a colorful character that we are certain that heaven is a new place with her presence. I love you Grandma!! XO

My fondest memories are the smile and exuberance that Aunt Eileen always showed to others. Aunt Eileen and Uncle Cliff came to watch our team bowl on so many occasions. It was always such an uplifting time. And of course, always a great hug and firm handshake when they departed.
