Obituary
Elaine (Fore) Lewis entered the world in Pocatello, Idaho April 23, 1922. As a small child the family moved to California where they stayed for a number of years. She loved California and it would always be a place she enjoyed coming back to. She loved the ocean and hated leaving it. The family moved to Maple Valley and she lived in the south end until she left us, November 5, 2013 surrounded by her daughters Debbie Markle, Dianna Olson, and her son-in-law Gordon Olson.
Elaine was a tomboy and had little issue beating up any boy that picked on her younger brother, Bud Fore. They both played in Cedar River and found that as one enjoyment they shared. As she matured she became very shy. She found the love of dancing and it became one of her passions. She outgrew the love of the river to dancing at Gaffeneys in Lake Wilderness Park.
She also found her voice and she was not only a wonderful dancer but a beautiful singer. Her shyness held her back from pursuing both as a career. As time went on she ended up working at Pacific Northwest Bell as an operator where she married Frank Purcell during World War II and had two daughters, Dianna and Debbie. She stayed home and raised her daughters. She was a great mom, a gentle spirit, and an independent soul.
Elaine enjoyed gardening, traveling, old movies and music. Gardening became her creative release and made every yard she had into beauty. She knew every plant in her gardens and welcomed nature into it. She said she liked to walk with God around the areas she created and spent time talking with him.
She married again later in lie to Jack Lewis and was deeply in love with him. She spent the last 15 years of her life in love and being loved. She leaves behind two daughters, two grandsons Michael Olson and Matthew White, son in law Gordon, and daughter in law Amanda White. She had four great grandchildren Cera Olson 12, Eve White 10, Haley Olson 8, and Bella White 7.
Mom, you will be missed so very much and every time we enter a plant nursery I know you will be with us.
You are now home with the Lord that you loved so much. Rest in peace and we will see you soon in glory.
There are always someone you will remember as the years pass and Mrs. Elaine (Purcell)as I knew her growing up is one of them. I will always remember her as having a very warm personality and being very gentle. She always reminded me of Elizabeth Montgomery her personality and her looks. I am sure her daughters will miss her very much. I will remember her at Mass Sunday and say her name out loud for the souls who have departed.
Rest in Peace!
