Bette (Elizabeth) Beauchamp, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Renton, Washington, at the remarkable age of 100.
Born on July 10, 1924, in Omaha, Nebraska, Bette lived a century marked by adventure, dedication, and deep love for her family. Her life journey took her across continents and through decades of meaningful work and joyful living.
Bette’s professional career was as dynamic as it was impactful. In the 1970s, she served as the office manager for one of Seattle’s top cardiovascular surgeons—a role that reflected her organizational skill and commitment to excellence. Her passion for healthcare extended internationally when she taught medical records at a hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In the 1980s, she continued her work in medicine as an office manager and billing specialist for a family medicine practice in Southern California. Through each chapter of her career, Bette brought professionalism and warmth to those around her.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Bette’s faith was a guiding force that shaped her values and relationships. She was active with the Legion of Mary through her associations with the Catholic Church and volunteered to support families in need through St Vincent de Paul along beside her husband. She found joy in community activities and cherished time spent with others. Whether participating in a bowling league or playing Bunco with friends, she embraced every opportunity to connect and celebrate life. As a proud member of the Red Hat Society, she delighted in camaraderie and fun well into her later years.
Bette also had a creative spirit—she enjoyed painting and found peace and inspiration in artistic expression. Her love for the outdoors led to many cherished camping trips that brought her closer to nature and those she loved.
Family was at the heart of everything Bette did. She is lovingly remembered by her children Michele, Mark, Victoria, and Roger; and by her great-grandson Payton along with many nieces and nephews. Her husband Frank preceded her in death in April 1999. Also preceding in death are two sisters, one brother, one grandson and one granddaughter.
Known for her tremendous sense of humor and quick wit, Bette had an infectious laugh that could light up any room. She approached life with zeal—embracing each day with gratitude and joy. Her legacy is one of strength, laughter, devotion, and enduring love.
