Elizabeth “Libby” Castleman Schuur
Elizabeth “Libby” Castleman Schuur was born January 6, 1922 in Butte, MT, and passed away February 25, 2018 in Federal Way, WA at the age of 96. Libby lived almost her entire life in Tacoma, graduating from Lincoln High School. She married John Schuur in 1947, and raised a family of four children in the same North East Tacoma neighborhood for over 59 years until his passing in August 2005. Libby enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and playing Pinochle with her friends and had a special talent as a homemaker and creating a comfortable home environment. Her sense of humor and sharp wit was memorable and present even in her final days. She was always sweet and gentle, and took an active role in her grandchildren’s lives. Libby proudly lived independently until her death. She was preceded in death by daughter Thora Lee Pulich and grandson Bradley Pulich. Libby is survived by her three children Carolyn (Ric) Thompson, Gayle (Mark) Larsen, and Mark (Ingrid) Schuur, and grandchildren David and Michael Pulich, Samuel (Aubrey) and Emma Larsen, Lauren and Erik Schuur. Graveside Service for family to be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00am at Mountain View Cemetery, Auburn, WA with a public reception at Twin Lakes Country Club 3583 SW 320th street Federal way, WA 98023 at 12:30 pm.
