Ella Ree Depue
Born March 28, 1920 in Mason City, IL; died August 23, 2006 in Burien, WA at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1993. Ella Ree is survived by her daughters Georgia Birchler and husband Gary, Mary Palzer, and Willa Roddy and husband Jim; sister Ruby Imig; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Ella Ree grew up in Illinois where she became a beautician. She married Bill in 1943, and they moved to Seattle soon thereafter, where they raised their three daughters. Ella Ree enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, was an excellent cook, and had a lively sense of humor. She will be missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services were held Monday, August 28, 2006 at 3:00pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd. SeaTac 206 242-1787.
Grandma Depue, as I called her, was my cousins’ grandmother. But she never made it feel that way. I always felt welcome and a part of her family when I was in her home. Grandma Depue had a wonderful sense of humor. She always had a one-liner or a smile and laugh ready to validate your jokes. What a lovely lady. You will be terribly missed.

Grandma, you’ve had a long journey and I hold on to the hope that your passing was your true healing. As you find comfort and peace in the arms of our Father God may he turn all our hearts from mourning to dancing! We reflected on your love for dancing at the service yesterday, and I can just see you dancing up there in Heaven! Miss you.
