Elliott Andre Paulson passed away on June 29, 2013 at the age of 97 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Elliott was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sears; a daughter, Judy Dunsire; a son, Peter Paulson; Wanda’s daughters, Linda Behrens and Nancy Sears; three grandchildren, Lt. Col. Heidi Paulson, Lt. Col. Christopher Paulson and James Goodman; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jack Fecker, and his 98 year old brother, Marvin Paulson. Marvin traveled from Minnesota this past March to be with Elliott on his final birthday.
Elliott was born on March 30, 1916 in Hatton, North Dakota. He was a 1937 graduate of Minot State University where he was later inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1939 he married Mary Ann Fecker who passed away in 2004. He served as a naval officer in the Pacific during WWII and following the war moved with his family to Seattle where he was employed by The Employers Group Insurance Company. He then worked for Seattle University as Vice President of Public Relations. Elliott was active in various community services and was an avid golfer and sports fan. He will always be remembered for his optimism, generosity, and love of life. He will truly be missed.
