Obituary

Emanuel was born August 16, 1939 to the union of Emanuel Joseph Taylor Sr. and Helen Charles Taylor in New Orleans, LA. The family later moved to Seattle in 1948 where he attended school graduating from Garfield High School in 1958. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy where he faithfully served until his honorable discharge in 1961. Emanuel went on to work at University Congregational Church, Boeing and shortly after at Pacific Maritime Association Union Local #19 as a Longshoreman Crane Operator until he retired in 1995.

While Emanuel enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow shooting, trap shooting, bowling and rooting for the Seahawks, he will most be remembered for his faithful service to Hercules Lodge No. 17 F. & AM Prince Hall, Washington and Jurisdiction. Emanuel served as Past Master of Hercules Lodge No 17 F. & AM Prince Hall, Washington and Jurisdiction, member of Beni Hassan Temple No 64, Royal Arch Mason William L. Hawkins Chapter No 60 and Prince Hall Consistory #67.

Emanuel found Christ in his life at an early age and was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Seattle, WA in 1949. He was always dependable and his love for others was always exhibited. While he could be very outspoken and determined, he was always genuine and because of his sincerity, he touched many lives and hearts.

Emanuel was preceded in his homegoing by both parents and brother, Norman Taylor, Sr. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife Patricia A. Walker Taylor, daughter, Adele L. Holifield Dexter of Augusta, GA.; brother, Arthur L. Taylor Dorothy of Clinton, WA.; sister Hazel Maryland of Hammond, LA, sister-in-law Nina R. Davis of Seattle, WA.; brother-in-law Eddie R. Walker Geri of Seattle, WA.; uncles Felix Charles Inez, David Williams Mary and aunt Henrietta Delong all of Hammond, LA.; nephew Norman “Charles” Taylor, Jr. of Seattle, WA.; cousin sister in heart Joanna Graham Robert, his loving cousin “The Queen” Vera Thomas of San Francisco, CA, nieces daughters Michele D. Babbs Gregory of Bremerton, WA, and Deborah A. Prescott Rex of Seattle, WA.; godsister Carol-Ann S. Thornton of Renton, WA.; godson Joseph S. Prescott of Seattle, WA.; his best friend in life, brother in spirit Dwaine Coverson Sandy of Seattle, WA.; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, too numerous to name.
