Emil Sabbatini, Passed away at home at age 86 on Friday June 25th with family at his side. He was born February 28th, 1918 in Correa, Argentina to Italian parents. He was raised in New York City and served in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He was discharged at Fort Lewis and took up residency in Seattle. A sheet metal worker at Boeing, he retired in 1986. Emil and his beloved wife Barbara were married for 47 years. He loved fishing and building things, and had a tool for every need. He was always willing to help others with their projects, whether it was advice or to roll up his sleeves and help. Emil will be missed by his many friends and neighbors, and by his family who loved him: wife Barbara, children, Marcie Ted Passic, Chris Mike Tarling, John Drena Sabbatini, grandchildren, Janae Jeff, Andy, Emily, Karissa, Kendal, Tony and Nikki, sister & brother-in-law Mel and Carol Mattson, brother & sister-in-law Terry and Barbara Smith, brother-in-law James H. Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Bonney-Watson Federal Way.
Its hard to put ones feelings and emotions into words, especially when its about someone you loved and cared for so much. Grandpa was a man who even in his weakest times had a strangth that i have never seen in another person. He was one of the reason that this family is as strong as it is and will continue to be. No matter where life takes any of us, i know that thanks to his guidence and the knowledge he passed down we will all be just fine. The world has lost a good man, but atleast a good man is finally found his peace.
Dear Barbara and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Emil’s passing. What a guy!!
We have such wonderful memories of him at your cabin & at your home, always with Pepi. He tried so hard to be gruff, but he could not pull that off very well with his tender heart. We will always cherish his memory and the things that he made that we were lucky enough to get.
All our love, Doug and Arlene
At a time like this, words fail to express my sorrow for your loss. Emil was a humble but proud man who provided the true meaning of love and devotion to his family and especially to you, Barbara. Barbara, you can take deep pride and satisfication in the love, devotion, and care you gave Emil to the end.
While I regret not knowing Emil, I do want to express my condolences, John, on the loss of your father; to Drena as well in this time of sadness; and especially to Nikki and Tony for losing their grandfather. Nick and Janet also send their regrets at this difficult time.
Barb and family,
I was so saddened to hear about Emil. A wonderful person, father and companion along with best friend to all…he will be missed by everyone he has blessed with his smile. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Remember the best of times with him.
Hugs…Anitra
my father in law: He always made me feel special.
I have some wonderful memories about him that will always be in my heart.
Thank you dad for your love, laughter, your teasing; for just being you. I miss you every day.
We will dearly miss Emil very much. He was a true friend and his example taught me some of life’s greatest lessons.
Emil was not just my neighbor,
he was like a dad to me. He’d
tell me I needed to do this or
that, then would do it for me.
He’d give me a bad time when I
wanted to go “shopping” in his
garage, always telling me he’d
put it on my bill. He had a
unique sense of humor and I
always enjoyed our bantering.
I’ll miss him, as everyone
else whose life he touched will.
Good job and you’re right…to captured what was most important to Emil! love to all – The Sweeneys
Our whole family will miss Emil, as he kidded our kids and made them laugh, for so many years. our trips and vacations together, and always there to help us with a remodeling project, his yelling at me that I,m not doing it right, and for almost 50 years my best fishing partner.
My buddy is not suffering anymore, and our family will miss him.
To Barbara and all her family our most sincere sympathy.
We loved Emil Sabbatini…..
Emil was our friend for nearly forty years and is sorely missed.
Our deepest sympathies to all of you. May your precious memories be a strength and a treasure to you always.
Blessings,
