Emma L. HANLEY
Born March 25, 1921 in Butte, Montana, died peacefully surrounded by love at her home October 18, 2011. She was a member of the Burien Elks Emblem Club, Burien Lunch Bunch, a committed supporter of Ruth Dykeman Center and USO. Preceded in death by her husband Daniel P. Hanley, Sr. in 1996 and daughter Danette Hanley in 1943. Beloved mother of Barbara (Ron) Hash, Daniel (Sue) Hanley, Jr., Nancee Stanley, Jack Hanley, Robert (Jan) Hanley, Sandie Engle and Richard (Jonell) Hanley, grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother of 35 whom she enjoyed. Viewing starting Friday, October 21, 2011 2:00 PM, Rosary Sunday, October 23 at 3:00 PM all at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac. Even though we only knew gma for a short amount of time, she was one of the sweetest women i’ve ever met. She gave me a huge hug, and the most beautiful smile. 🙂 Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. God Bless all of you, especially you KC for taking such great care of gma. Your an angel!!!

I only met Emma once, and she seemed so genuine and at peace. She seemed to be a very special and cherished member of her family. I enjoyed the short time I spent with her in her home. I only happened to meet her by chance as I was out with my cousin Monica for awhile and she said she needed to stop by. It was a pleasant, but short visit.

Hi Mom just found out we could talk to you hear so I have some good news for you and Dad your son Danny is going to be a FATHER, yes a father, they found out the other day that it is going to be a BOY, and him and Maya are really happy. Baby boy is due around the 12th of August. Which you were and Dad were here so you could meet him as well as Maya, they are very good together and are looking forward to becoming parents. This grandchild will be so different because of how close I live to them, looking forward to it all. Just got back from Kristen house had a great time kids and her and Macon are doing well. Love and miss you both, think of you on a regular and daily basis. Still finding those pennies you and Dad keep throwing down for me, altho last money I have found has been nickel, dimes, not pennies. Love Nancee

We learned today that Natalie and Lamar are expecting their first child in late October or early November of this year! Wish you were here with us to see this joyous event. You will have another Great Grandchild!

Hi mom and dad, sure you have been watching everything that has been going on but if you havent jsut want to share with you. Danny and Maya were married on the 6th of August in s small ceremony at their house. Officiated by his friend Henry from CA. also Leo was born on the 18th of Aug, dannys birthday..what a present., All are doilng well. He has to work next week and then he will be off till the 3rd of October when he starts his new job at Starbucks. They are all doing well and send their love. Gee, thought maybe that Leo might come on your anniversary, but made the splash on his Dads day. He is go happy , he just beams…love love love it. All for now but will keep you posted. Hi mom, it’s been awhile, since we last talked a lot has happened, danny and maya got married in the 6jth of August and Leo was. one on the &18th of August, Danny’s. birthday. He was so happy , what. great present. he has a new job and they told him to take a month off and then come to work. So he spent the first weeks of Leo’s life with him and Maya. great experience for all 3 of them.
Maya’s mother cam over from Japan and stayed for 3 months to be with them. great for all of them. maya goes back to wotk the first part of december. They are all doing great Danny is so happy and loving es being a father. lhalloween is next week and this wIll.be his first holiday. kristen macon and the kids are co,in general up for thanksgiving so they will be able tim meet Leo. Kristen was up in september and met Leo so will be in e for the kids to finally meet and hold him. they try to do facetime, which is really nice. think of you and dad all the time especially during the holidays, which are upon us. chat with ,you later. love nancee

Merry Christmas Mom! I don’t think I told you but you can see you are a Great Grand Mother again (two times). You know Danny and Maya had a beautiful little boy . . . his name is LEO. I know Nancee filled you in.
Now Natalie and Lamar followed up with their first child – also a boy. His name is Hudson. I know you can see both of them and see the joy new babies bring to a family.
I miss you and Dad everyday – especially around the Holidays. I always knew death was final, but I never understood the emptiness that it would leave in my heart . until we lost you and Dad. I will always Love you! We all still LOVE you both very much. Rickie

Well another year is about to end and a new one begin, so Happy New Year 2017 to you and Dad. Xmas was quiet but nice, had Danny Maya and Leo over for dinner. Leo is growing so fast, Im going to be watching him for the next 2 months and after that Mays Mom is coming back from Japan for another 3 months and watch Leo. He found his toes today and I captured it on video, what a little cutie, Maya got him actually finding them and holding on to them, mine he just found them bur never actually latched on to them. Interesting and enjoyable to have him around. See Rick told you about Natalie and Lamars little one, so happy for Rick and Jonell becoming grandparents. Suppose to get a little snow this New Years weekend hopefully it will be just that a little….Sure you are watching and observing from above to see how everyone is doing. Hi mom, day late but happy birthday, this would have been your 99 th birthday. Sure you and dad are looking down and watching in awe, as to what the world is going thru.little scary, but we will survive. Everyone here is in good shape, try to keep in touch with everyone to see how they are doing. Hate to say it, but we don’t see enough of each other. Everyone is busy and, I understand, but it doesn’t make it okay. Miss it terribly., as well as miss you snd Daddy.. Juli Hanley is going thru some medical problems, apparently she has jaw cancer and the are doing surgery on the 31 st to try and remove it all. Quite an extensive surgery, so hope all works out well for her. Sad thing is, that because of the Covid 19 virus, Jim cannot be there for her during this time, it the hospital only has there best interest at heart. Wish I had better news to share, maybe next time. Say an extra prayer for Juli and her family. Love and miss you both.

I see the family has kept you in the loop. So much has changed since you have made your journey, I could go on for hours. As you know I kept to my promise to continue to care for others in the last days, I know we thought I would go into hospice but here I am in death care and loving the care I am able to provide. I now have three children, you would love how my little family has grown, they are all amazing. I still grab the phone to call you, I am sure I always will. I miss you more than you could have ever imagined, my soul misses you. I will never stop loving you and will continue looking for signs of your guidance, love and support. 11:11
Happy birthday mom, we all are thinking of you on this day especially. Remembering so birthday we got to celebrate with you. One o& the best, is your 90th where we all celebrated you, and all the wonderful memories. I know you were never able to meet Danny son, but he is a loving and wonderful little boy. Danny has been showing him pictures of you and talking about you. He may never had been able to meet you in person, but he is very aware of who you are. Rick was here over night and w3 chatted about you this morning over coffee, before he left to go back home, quick trip in Wednesday and gone Friday morning. H3 was able to visit with his His grandkids, Hudson, Hazel and Brooks.
