Obituary
Ernest Marcello born January 6, 1936 in White Castle, Louisiana and passed in his sleep on September 7, 2015. He was the son of Virginia Edwards and Harry Marcelin and was the youngest of 6 siblings, he is survived by his older brother Harry. Ernest enlisted with the United States Navy when he was 19 years old and served for 5 years. When he joined the Navy he had a passion for baseball and it was our understanding he was scouted by the Negro Baseball League and even had interest from the Dodgers. As he was serving his country was unable to pursue that dream. In 1959 he was honorable discharged from Hatupac, NAS, Whidbey Island Washington, after which he resided in Seattle for the last 55 years. He worked for the Associated Groceries AG for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, especially baseball and an occasional day at the race track. Ernest is survived by his wife Norma, his sons EJ, Tony, Ian and his daughters, Tanya and Michelle and his grandchildren, Tyana, Isaiah, Isaac, Chloe, Nashia, and Sharifa; and many nieces and nephews. He was loved greatly and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A private burial will be held at a later date. Donation in memory can be made to the local Cancer Society.
