Obituary
Eugene “Gene” B. Girdler, age 85, passed away on August 16, 2006 at his home in Federal Way. He was the father of Alison Beckett and Madelon Mayer; grandfather of Jonathan and Lauren Mayer, who all live in California. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marion in 2002. Gene was a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. He also served in the US Navy Reserves. Most recently, Gene was active in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 3:00 pm at BONNEY-WATSON Federal Way, 1535 SW Dash Point Rd., Federal Way, WA 253 839-7317.
I will miss Gene. In the Coast Guard Auxiliary he was a crew mate, mentor and friend. We had a great personal relationship as friends and veterans. He shared his experiences of life on a destroyer in WWII.
We are very sorry to lose Gene from the Coast Guard Auxiliary but we send prayers to his family
