Obituary
Eugene H. Goodwin passed away on the 10th of November at 5:05pm, after a two year battle with dementia and cancer. He is survived by his wife Joyce Kendrick Goodwin, his children Randy and Carol and daughter-in-law Yvette, two grandchildren, Nicole and Alyssa Goodwin and many nieces and nephews as well as Joyce’s children and grandchildren. Gene passed away at home with the help of his family, and the incredible people at Providence Hospice. He was born in Lamar, Colorado to parents Bruce and Iva. He was one of 4 children, and is the last family member to pass at age 93. Gene was in the Washington National Guard for 2 years during the Korean War and worked at Unigard Insurance for 37 years till his retirement. Gene was a very talented artist and did some beautiful paintings. Gene and Shirley were married 45 years and had 9 years of retirement before Shirley passed unexpectedly. Gene and Joyce met each other dancing and enjoyed 21 years together golfing and traveling. Gene will be greatly missed by his large group of friends as well as his family.
Gene, was always a kind and thoughtful father in law and grandfather. I will always remember his “Goodwin whine” and great laugh. I enjoyed all the time we had together and will miss him greatly.
