We became acquainted with Mrs. Roo in February of 1992 when our family of five moved back to Seattle to assume a ministry position at the Philadelphia Church. With the assistance of a mutual friend and real estate professional, Marion Aag, Mrs. Roo graciously opened up beautiful accommodations for us with affordable arrangements. She made a joke when we first met her that we might ”rue the day” that we met her, but of course, the relationship was quite to the contratry — she was indeed a blessing to us at a very important transition time in our lives. She took a ”risk” on this young family and we are so grateful that she did. It was a lovely two years for us there as we were close to work and close to the Loyal Heights school for our boys.

I like to consider our relationship with Mrs. Roo as a providential one, not only for those two years, but also in the fact that we then purchased her son Gale’s house — where we live to this day.

We honor her memory and are thankful for the blessing that knowing her has been to our family.
