Obituary
Eula Fitzsimons, age 91, passed away at home after just over a year on Hospice care. A memorial service for Eula will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd at 1:30pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
Eula was born in Overton, Nebraska in 1929 to Frederick & Ethel Wisner, the youngest of three children. She lived in Overton on the family farm until 1939 when her family moved to New Plymouth, Idaho. She met her husband Jimmy in New Plymouth, and they later married on June 5, 1949. In 1951 they moved to Washington State, where they settled in the Sea-Tac/Des Moines area and had three children, son Kim, daughter Juli and son Kris.
In 1978 Eula was confirmed as a Catholic at St. Philomena’s Catholic Church. She became very involved in the church, serving in several capacities, including the wedding ministry, outreach for funeral receptions, community meals, and as an acolyte. She was also a member of the St. Joan of Arc Guild. Many of her lasting friendships came as she volunteered in the church office, some of her favorite memories.
Eula had the opportunity to travel to Mexico with her husband Jimmy, a long-delayed dream of theirs to see Guadalajara and Lake Chapala. She enjoyed a couple of other international trips with her close friend Marilyn, getting to see the Russian Far East and Ireland. One of her favorites places to go however, was to Alaska. She made it to several cities/towns and went several times to Anchorage to see the Iditarod Race, her favorite. She also enjoyed camping with her family up at Mt. Rainier and taking family trips to the ocean at Cannon Beach, Oregon.
Eula was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her mother & father, brother Chet, and sister Louisa. She is survived by her children, son Kim Fitzsimons, daughter Juli (Stuart) Henderson, son Kris (Traci) Fitzsimons, grandchildren Kelsey (Brian) Dyson, Lindsey (Wilson) Hiner, Megan Henderson, Angela Ylenni & Kristen Fitzsimons, as well as her two great-grandsons Judah & Asher Hiner.
Eula was extremely unselfish person, caring of others, putting their needs before her own, especially her family.
With love and affection to Eula’s family from a grateful friend.
