Obituary
Long-time resident of Horizon House, Evelyn Carulli, passed away on January 8th at the age of 95.
She moved to Horizon House with her husband, Larry, and enjoyed many years living in the heart of Seattle, walking daily to the Pike Place Market, taking care of errands and business and enjoying the friendly people who lived around her. She was a quiet and refined person, yet had a wonderful sense of humor and great attitude. She will always be remembered saying ‘Andiamo’ Let’s go and ‘It could be worse’ and giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for taking such good care of her for so many, many years.
Evelyn was born and raised in Oglesby, Illinois and became a school teacher which she immensely enjoyed. She visited Seattle where she met and married her husband of 40 years and lived all of her married life on Beacon Hill. Working and retiring from the City of Seattle, Evelyn also played and taught piano, loved gardening, hand embroidery, sewing/tailoring work and walking everywhere in her ‘brisk’ manner.
Evelyn will be missed dearly by her niece, Linda; her great nephew Blaine Davidson and great niece Courtney Bicknell, her brother-in-law Carl Carulli and wife Josephine, her niece, Janet Stimach and great nephew Craig Stimach and cousins Ozzie Piscia and Rena Rygalsky, and godson Robert Mente, along with other family members in Oglesby, Illinois.
It has been years since we have seen each other, as I was only a child, but your kindness has been forever. Heaven is your place of rest where I hope we will someday meet again.
God Bless – Bob
Although not technically a relative, I was blessed to get to know Evelyn and Larry, even celebrating holidays with them and the rest of the Carulli family. I considered Evelyn and Larry family and proudly considered her “Aunt Evelyn” as much as if she was in my immediate family. Evelyn was such a classy lady; she and Uncle Larry were models of what a Christian family should be and lived their lives with dignity and grace, giving God the glory for their lives. It must have been great to be one of Evelyn’s students. “Andiamo”, Aunt Evelyn! You are missed here, but you are now blessed in the presence of your Savior.
Blessed Evelyn,
Dormi con gli angeli!
Love,
Dent
Even though I was not really family, I grew up knowing Evelyn and Larry and always referred to them as Auntie and Uncle. She was a wonderful lady who lived a long life. Now she is in a better place and I’m sure, happy.
Evelyn and I had many fond memories of Italian food and politics.. I’ll miss those chit chats. Her friendship will always be cherished.
Farewell to a wonderful lady. It was such a pleasure to be a small part of her life.
Auntie Evelyn- Thank you so much for sharing so much of your heart and life with my Mom. She loves you like a Mother and I know your heart towards her was so full. I will always remember the look on your face when you held Shaye. Such delight! I know you are enjoying ultimate peace and are in the presence of our Almighty God. I’m looking forward to spending eternity with you!!!!

Aunt Evelyn – I truly love you! Thank you for your teachings and guidance all these years. I am rejoicing that you have graduated ‘with honors’ to the highest level and will spend eternity with our God. Your faithful niece, Linda
