Evelyn Jaunith Findley

Evelyn was born January 3, 1950 in Portland, Arkansas to George and Cozetta Findley. She was the third child. She was a very loving and giving person. She had a love to cook and loved to eat. She was very intelligent and had a strong love for her family. She moved to Seattle when she was 15 years old and graduated from Franklin High School in 1968. She later married Charles Grayson and had two children, Tanesha and Tyree.

Evelyn worked for the Port of Seattle for over 30 years and retired in August of 2008. Evelyn leaves behind her two children, Tanesha Grayson of Maple Valley, WA and Charles Tyree Grayson IV of Seattle, WA: a granddaughter Akira Copeland of Maple Valley, WA; three sisters, Cassie James Luster, Bernice James King, and Linnie Penn all of Flint, MI; two brothers, Bennie Findley of Seattle, WA and Clarence Ora Findley of Beloit, WA; two aunts, one uncle and the Findley, Hawkins, and Grayson families. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Anita Stewart, Teresa Bartholomew, Alma Blue, Anita White, and Mother Jewell. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents George and Cozetta Findley, sisters, Nancy Lee Foster, Mary Dean Russell, and brother, Leon Findley.

Visitation Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 98188. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 4, 2011 at Greater Mount Baker Baptist Church, 2425 S. Jackson St. Seattle, WA 98144. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
