Obituary

Evelyn June Schuehle

Evelyn was born in Seattle, Washington June 4, 1924. She attended Cleveland High School and graduated in 1942. After high school she worked as a bookkeeper at Boeing Field Skyroom Restaurant and this is were she met her first husband Harry Beggerly.

Harry and Evelyn married in May of 1950. They had 3 children, Dennis Beggerly, Stephen Beggerly, and Lynne Elliott. Evelyn and Harry started the “Mr.B’s” restaurants and together they had 14 years of happiness and success.

In 1964 Harry passed away. Evelyn continued to run the restaurants and invested in real estate. At this time she also spent countless years taking care of her mother and handicapped sister. She was also raising 3 children on her own; her days were full of responsibilities and duties. She prided herself in being independent and always referred to herself as one of the original women’s libbers.

In 1968 she married Martin Schuehle. It was in 1974 that Evelyn retired from the restaurant business. She had rental properties to manage. Martin and Evelyn traveled and loved to have family vacations. The family traveled together to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. She and Martin purchased condos in Maui and spent many vacations there.

Family was always important to Evelyn. Together Evelyn and Martin had 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-Grandchildren.

In 1993, Martin passed away. Once again she was on her own to take care of herself and the businesses.

Her “independence” was diminishing when she started to suffer from dementia in 1999. In Evelyn’s last years, she required family and skilled care for her existence. She didn’t want to give up and always wanted to have fun and be included in outings. When we visited her, she would always ask “What are we doing today?” She enjoyed trips to the Puyallup Fair with Steve and loved garage sales and casino trips with Lynne. One of her fondest outings was to Lake Morton where she had a cabin. She loved picnics. Visits from Dennis were also cherished.

Evelyn passed away at home on May 3rd. She was in the comfort of her home and lovingly surrounded by her family.

Visitation for Evelyn will be held Thursday, May 9th from 2:00-5:00pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA 98188. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 30th at 12:00pm at Timberlake Church, 4505 236th Ave. NE, Redmond, WA 98053.

Our prayers and sympathy to your family. We remember both families together at Stephanie and Michelle’s birthdays and Evelyn having a great time always friendly and happy. You will miss her presence but will hold her love and memory in your hearts forever.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I cherish the memories with your family at the lake, picking dandelions in your huge yard for a penny, re adding the restaurant tickets and always, always the laughter! My mother had a very dear friend in Evelyn.

Dear Dennis, Steve, and Lynn: I am so sorry that I missed Evelyn’s funeral and seeing you in person. As your neighbor so many years ago, I never forgot how you all were family to Marianne, Colleen and me. Your mom was so special – and so was your dad. I made my childhood “living” by mowing your mom’s lawn. Her thoughtfulness and generosity was so very important to us – especially after losing our own mother. While I have not seen you all in years, my heart is still with you. All my best, Ron
