There was a spark and effervescence about Auntie Eve. I always was amazed how young and full of life she remained despite her many years of living. Being with Auntie Eve was candy for the soul because she had a knack for fun, laughter, warmth and caring. She was a gift from God to her family and all of us who knew her and now she basks in the glory of that Giver. In His presence she shines with an even greater brilliance than ever before.

What fun memories I have of going to Aunt Evelyn’s and Uncle Philips on the coast as a youngster. I remember the dune buggy rides in the woods and Aunt Evelyn’s infectious laugh the most. She was always so full of life and ready to tell a good story. More recently when I would visit, she liked to talk about “the good old days”. She will certainly be missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. What a wonderful day that will be when Jesus comes again and we will all go to heaven together forever!

Just wanted you to know that many of my childhood memories are centered around family and Auntie Evelyn. Fun times smoking salmon and family picnics at Uncle Philip and Auntie Evelyn’s. Watching the stars and knowing that she was watching over us. Her smile and her laugh. She was full of life, cookies and fun. She was a great lady. She walks with God now so it is hard to be sad but she defently leaves hole that no one can fill. My thoughts and prayer are with you.

Yes, Jesus is coming soon…can’t you just see the gleams of the golden morning breaking through this night of gloom…the golden gleams that will burst the tomb. What a reunion THAT will be.

Aunt Evelyn was there for my Mother, when she “came west” from South Dakota, And she was there for my sisters when Mom died.

I remember her hugs, her laughter, and that sparkle in her eyes.

She was just one of a kind. And we were all lucky to have her in this herd of Hurds for so many years.

I’m looking forward to that Great Reunion when Jesus comes in the sky.

My love to all of you,

Madelon

What a special lady. I enjoyed her so much and she loved to laugh and encourage and give. She was so much fun and really excited about family and friends and showed it. 1969 was a special time when I spent the summer around her and I had such wonderful memories with the adventures and trips and special talks we had.

I will cherish the memories of I have of Grandma B. I loved being around her. Always laughing, happy, cooking! She was very loving to all of us grandchildren. She gave us so many happy, wonderful memories. I’ll never forget the times we had at her property in Covington. The big family picnics outside with BBQ salmon and awesome homemade rolls. Grandma B always gave the best hugs! I wish my kids could have known her. Goodbye Grandma – I loved you and will miss you.

Precious Jerry, Candis, Gene, Vivian & Families, Love to you all. Your Mother was quite a woman. I agree with so many about the radiance she had and the love for the Lord. So much of our childhood was having so much fun with Clipper Clubbers of Boulevard Park Pres. We have such a heritage and I am so thankful for all the other Mom’s and Dad’s I had. Your folks the Noon’s too were such loving people. Lifting you all up to our Lord. Jerry, I remember lunch at Wally’s and how you shared about your Mom and I believe the next day she went to be with our Lord and other saints. So thankful to be a part of your family.

Dearest Grandma, I am so grateful you came down to California to visit me and my family a few times. How very Special those memories are! We had so much fun cooking and you sharing with me and family all your very Yummy recipes. What an awesome time we had spending the evenings playing games. It reminded me of when I was a child and would go to “grandma’s house”; how special that my children were able to experience such a loving and fun great-grandma. WE WILL MISS YOU! WE LOVE YOU! Looking to the day we all shall meet again. Love you Grandma! Tiffany B Sanchez

We remember Evelyn from her many visits to relatives in Eastern Washington, especially Katie and Cliff. She was a happy person who loved to laugh and enjoyed life. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her food with friends and family. We extend our sympathies to her family.

MOM….Thousands of thoughts race to and fro as my memory bank picks through the heritage of having a great MOM. So what sort of tribute does a son write?

I remember how she gave her “ blessing” for Candis and I to return to Africa, reminding us of the sacrifice moms give when letting their children go. Saying good-byes after furloughs were always hard and full of tears for us all. In that we appreciated her love and approval. Being that we had the privilege of having a mom who loved the Lord, prayer and Bible reading were always a part of our time with mom. Only a short time ago she asked in such a sweet way, “Do you think Jesus is coming back soon?” In answer I reminded her that no one knows the exact time, but when He comes we are ready aren’t we? She gave a smile and a nod with a familiar twinkle in her eye that said, “All is well with my soul.” That heritage is greatly appreciated.

She lived a life well lived and gave herself to others. If she could give a party to help celebrate anything, she would. But one of her most endearing gifts were the love, time, effort, care and dedication to all her grandchildren. What an example she gave us. What a heritage she gave to her grandchildren, who are mostly grown now with children of their own, but her memory remains a strong part of their lives and ours. Thank you Mom for the love, care and example you were to me, your second son. I loved you always and still do. Jerry Bingham

MOM B. . .That’s what I called her all the years she was definitely a Mother-in-Love to me. She was a great encourager, full of fun, great cook who tried to teach me, wonderful at decorating and party giving for all the family. How she loved the family and most—how she shared her love for our children—for all her grandchildren. What a Christian heritage she gave to them! What love she gave to them that they’ll never forget! I personally so appreciated her prayers and support especially while we were on foreign lands as missionaries. Thank you Lord for my MOM B. Truly precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints, His loving ones. Psalms 116:15 Mom, you can really have a party now. We all love you! I Love you. Candis Bingham daughter-in-love

When we heard of Auntie Evelyn’s homegoing our first thought was “What a reunion must be taking place in heaven right now!” It’s not hard at all to imagine her wonderful laugh echoing through heaven as the many loved ones already there welcome her HOME! How she loved to sing…..and to think that she now joins the heavenly host in praise and worship – incredible! We will miss her earthly presence, but we rejoice in knowing she is now with Jesus where all is joy. Gene & Viv, Jerry & Candis, and all the rest of the family – our love and prayers are with you now and in the days ahead.

Auntie Evelyn touched many lives and left a lasting impression with her smile, humor, and loving way!

She raised two fine sons, and as she always said, “You know, I took care of Stuart, when he was young.”

She was, in fact, my second mother…always there when I needed her. She taught me about life, love…and fishing! Auntie Evelyn will always be remembered in our hearts.

Gene & Jerry and families, We are thinking of you and our dear Auntie Evelyn. What a lady!! I cannot imagine an Aunt more loving and upbeat! None of us were wealthy in material things growing up but we had family, and Auntie Evelyn’s love for us all was part of the glue that held us together. Her laugh, especially when winning at Rook, was contageous! I am thankful for the legacy she left. I hope I too can ‘live on my good memories’ as she did to the end! We’ll see her again!

Love you guys, Hank & Sharon

We are saddened and yet “gladdened” to know that our

DEAR AUNTIE EVELYN is now with The Lord, and with her family. For her to see her mother Grace, and “Grandpa Lee”, and my own Dad, Merrill, makes me almost envious! What a heritage we had of growing up with her, and her love and hospitality. We will always remember her laugh! God Bless!

The dynamics of love, compassion, understanding and Christ centered encouragement that Aunt Evelyn played in our lives after our Mom and her sister, Elsie’s untimely death, cannot even begin to be expressed here. She simply had the capacity to hold us all in her arms and we knew that we were loved. What an awesome Auntie and woman she was and I look forward to that great reunion in the sky upon our Lords return. Love you all, Naomi
