Frances A. Maddox, 84 of Des Moines, WA, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Highline Medical Center, Burien, WA.
Frances was born on November 27, 1927 in Newmansville Township, Illinois, the daughter of Hiram and Anna Cassen. She married Marion Dale Maddox in Springfield, Illinois on January 21, 1947. Shortly after she graduated from high school, they moved to Minnesota, finally settling in Washington in 1958. Frances worked as an Accounts Payable Specialist for Alaska Airlines (formerly West Coast Airlines), retiring in 1985 after 18 years with the company.
Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale, her parents and brother, Harold Cassen. She is survived by her sister, Wilma Fry; a nephew, Earl Fry; both of Pittsfield, IL, a niece, Carolyn Reimer of Petersburg, IL; her goddaughter, Patti Wohrle of Valparaiso, IN; as well as close personal friends Jesse and Emma Corpus of Seatac, WA, W. Clint Stickney of Thompson Falls, MT and Victoria Stickney of Mercer Island, WA.
Frances will be interned next to her husband, Dale, at Tahoma National Cemetery. In keeping with Fran’s wishes, no memorial service is planned. Messages of condolence may be sent to Frances’ family online by visiting www.bonneywatson.com.
Frances Maddox was my aunt and sometimes its hard to believe that she is gone.
She had moved away from her home here in central IL many years ago, but those who knew here growing up still have many fond memories of her.
She is missed by her family and friends here in IL.
