Obituary
1945 – 2024
On March 17, 2024 Frances M. Fouts passed away peacefully due to complications from a fall.
Born on Christmas Eve, Fran was the only child of Edgar and Ruth Mont-Eton. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While studying for her Bachelor of Arts in political science at the University of New Mexico, she met her future husband, James Fouts. Shortly after graduation, on June 10, 1967 they wed and were married for 55 years.
Together, they had two children – Janine Fouts-Goodrich (Greg Goodrich) Seattle, WA and Andrew Fouts (Terrell Meek) Cleveland, OH. The family settled in Salt Lake City, UT where they lived until James’ passing in 2022.
Fran loved to paint, cook, and spend time with her friends. She also enjoyed volunteering her time. Among the organizations she worked with were the First Congregational Church of Salt Lake City, Campfire, and PEO.
Last year Fran moved to the Seattle area to be closer to her family, living at Cogir of Millcreek. Although she was not there long, she enjoyed meeting new friends and kept everyone entertained with her humor and intelligence. The family would like to thank the staff for taking such great care of her. She loved everyone and we greatly appreciate everything they did for her.
Fran will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in Salt Lake City, UT at a later date.
