Jane and Pastores family:
Thank you for sharing Cisco with Seattle Parks and with our staff for so many years. He was a treasure for sure: with his fantastic stories, his mentorship of all the kids, and his playful wit that always made you wonder what he had up his sleeve. I still remember one of his favorite lines when I’d ask him What’s up? “Ain’t nothin’ shakin but the leaves in the trees, and they wouldn’t be shakin if not for the breeze.”
Cisco will fondly reside in my heart. I will be out of town during the celebration, but I wanted to share with you what a positive impact he had on all of us on the Hill.
Sincerely,
Pam Banks

Dear Auntie Jeannie, Renaldo, Taria and Adono,
My thoughts are with you at this time. Uncle Cisco was such an important person to me while growing up.
In 1997 when my kids were little, we ran into him and Auntie in Chinatown. It prompted me to write him a letter thanking him for being such a positive influence and coach, telling him that my only hope was that my boys would connect with a coach like him someday.
The next Christmas he surprised me with a gift of my old Chopsticks uniform. What a surprise. The uniform looked like it was made for a Barbie doll. His card read, “Thanks for a lifetime of memories.” I thanked him, and I thank you for a lifetime of memories that our families shared. Dad loved Cisco. As our fathers’ generation passes, a distinct void is left. I hope that the memories of a life well lived will help to ease your sorrow.
Much gratitude and love,
Elana
Cisco, where do I start?
My brother Sport and I were just little boys being raised by a single mother Laura Wong-Whitebear in the early 80s on Beacon Hill. You cared for us at time when little boys need a strong father figure to help build their self-confidence. Your smile, love and passion for building strong relationships will always guide me. Thanks for being there for us and sharing your Asa Mercer Basketball Sanctuary.
I wish your family, friends and love ones PEACE & HAPPINESS. You shared it with my family, so I’m returning the favor.
God Speed!

Your family continues to be in my prayers as you mourn the loss of Francisco. Reading the Obituary in the paper made me even more aware of what a good and special man he was. May God give you each and all a share in his peace.
Cisco made a difference in the lives of many including me and for that I am very grateful. He was a wonderful coach and inspirational leader who was always there for everyone. I have very fond memories of our basketball journey together and will cherish that for the rest of my life.
To the Pastores family ~ my thoughts are with you, take care !
My deepest condolences to the Pastores family on the loss of Cisco. I played in SCAA for 5 years and will never forget his kind & helpful words, advice, smile and his El Camino…RIP Cisco!
The world has truly lost one of the most beautiful people you will ever meet. His presence alone would either comfort, or inspire you. May those who were lucky enough to know him, always remember what he stood for. God’s presence will be blessed with one amazing soul. RIP Cisco, we’ll miss you.
Cisco, you were a mentor to many including me. I long remember the days at Jefferson Rec. Center talking with you and listening to your life lessons. You certaninly were an inspiration and you truely had a hand and helping me achieve all that I have. Thanks, and rest in peace.
Jeannie,Renaldo, Taria, Adono & Family,
My best thoughts are sent to you during this difficult time. I will always remember Cisco being the quiet giant who cared so much for all the kids he coached and supported.
I also remember how he was able to clear the dance floor with his awesome dancing style!
Take care of each other,
Chery
I am sadden to hear of the news of Uncle Cisco. My condolences to the entire family. I have know Uncle Cisco since my first early days of playing basketball in the mid 70s! He coach me for many many years and was absolutely the best! He was a great leader and mentor. His dedication to the community goes beyond words. He always had a heart of gold and he will be missed greatly. Cindy
Janie & family – Sorry to hear of your loss. Cisco was an amazing leader for young people and made a difference in guiding them to more productive lives. He will be remembered for this important role to the community.
As I was watching my grandson play in his youth soccer game today, Cisco came into my thoughts. As a young teenager I was a frequent visitor of the Mercer gym and the JP community center. I have fond memories of our little chats in the bym’s office that starts out as just shooting the breeze would turn into words of wisdom or life lessons. I will never forget that warm, welcoming smile, kind heart, and gentle, nurturing spirit. It’s a shame kids like my grandson will not get the opportunity to experience his presence. Thank you for showing me the value of being a good human being and having had such a positive impact in my life. To Cisco’ s family, know that his positive influence on those he affected will continue that impact to others. That will be his legacy.
